I just owned myself.

So I decided to put on the stock wheels back on the car which has Brand new Avon A/S tires to combat the snow better then my worn down pirellis. Get the Lug Nut Key take it to the Lug and to my dismay, not only do I strip the Key Lug, but I also strip the Lug Nut Key so I can't get ANY wheels off.

So now what? I gotta take it to the stealership I assume right?

Damn I'm pissed. I hope it doesn't snow much or I'm fucked.

Take it to any place that does wheels, they'll be able to take them off.

Go to a hardware store where you can get sockets for cheap. Get a socket that is slightly bigger than the lock nut and make sure that you have to hammer it on. But only slightly so you dont damage your rim. Then take a socket wrench and turn left. Throw them lugs away and get new ones either from the stealership or from any auto parts store...

My friend went to some store some time ago when he was in your same situation and paid $2.22 for each socket...

Thats why I hate keys, they either break, or get lost, and I dobt they would deter a thief. Matter or fact, I went to a rim shop a long time ago, when I used to have locks, I forgot my key with the mechanic, and they pulled out a box of keys. I grabbed 2 and they both worked fine. Retarded.

yeah, i have a key set that i bought from snap-on. a lock isn't going to keep a thief from taking them.

I gotta pay Taxes to re-register the Accord and I just booked my Spring break Trip. I'll probably pay the taxes off on the Accord in a month or 2.

Take the car to a wheel shop and they will get them off for you with no problems. I kinda agree with rondog about those locks. I took them off my Axis because they were a pain in the ass.

I've taken all locking lugs off my cars. Way too much trouble then they are worth.

locks

Im not sure if it would work on your wheels but if worse comes to worse. I have heard people take it to a muffler shop and have them weld a socket onto the lug nut. I know someone that could not get them off and that was the only way he could come up with. but its depends on the wheel and lug nut setup. Just an idea......

I've done this... it works. Hammer on a socket. Be sure the lugs are torqued on next time (80 ft-lbs.) and not air-ratcheted on!

There is a tool that is can be descibed as a socket with reverse cutting threads inside, made of hardened steel. The threads are conical, getting smaller as you go. Shop puts it on over the lock and using the impact wrench it tightens down on the lock (spinning left, to the loosen) and off it comes. Used for locks, rounded off lug nuts whatever.
