I have to Jiggle my key for 5 min for it to turn over, What's wrong with her?
Well yesterday in NJ my car was covered in a sheet of ice , so after i chiped the ice off enough to open the door I tried starting it and the key would not turn over. I checked to make sure the steering wheel was locked and it was in park and still nothing, so I jiggled and jiggled the key and steering whhel, and finally it turned over and started, Today the same thing, so I sprayed some wd40 in the ingnition and no help. It takes me like 5 min of jiggling everytime i want to start my car and my wrist is starting to hurt what can be wrong?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!

My guess is that the key is worn and no longer stops in the key hole where it is supposed to. My Prelude does the same thing, you have to put the key in, then pull it back out about 1 mm and it is lined up properly. The other possibility is that you have ice in the keyhole. I would guess that isn't actually your problem because the WD40 would have taken care of it.

I did spray wd40 on the key and in the keyhole, and no luck.
I tried my second key and still no good but better, I have noticed that if the key is not in all the way it will start.

if u can get the lock cylinder out all the way.
Tear it apart until u have the pistons and the cylinder left. Then insert the key into it and see how they line up. If any of those pistons are poking out, pull it out and clean it up. If that still doesnt work, then insert the key again, and grind them until they're flush w/ cylinder.
I had to do that to my 89 supra. I only had one key and that was for the ignition, the doors used a different key. So I did all that and it worked pretty well.
I think I have pictures of it somewhere in my computer. If i find them, they'll be on here.

Even if you do get a remote starter, dont you still have to insert the key and turn it, I know in GM cars when u engage the remote start you have to put the key in and turn it before u can drive off!
BTW my keys seem to be working fine now, It all started happening when me car had a sheet of ice on it and since i put it in the shop at work one day and it seems to work fine now, maybee it was just frozen up in there somewhere..
