i have been waiting 2 months for this oppurtunity!!
Driving to work this morning i see a black 350z with tints roll up on me on the highway(just had my headers put on on monday). I rev up and pass him on the right than he revs up and passes me on the left...... so now we get side by side.... i go to ss mode and we slow to about 40 (midway through 2nd gear and we both take off he pulls for a second than my needle rises on the tack i hit vtec and start to pull like a fat man with a donout dangling in front of him...... i am almost in fornt of him i push up to shift into 3rd and my car just bounces off the rev limiter. Damn that stupid ss mode so i throw it into d5 but the car is stuck in second gear so i slowly start to limp off to the side of the highway. As i am pulling over the car finally goes into shifts out of second and my d5 light comes back on but by than the 350z is far ahead. I pass him as hes exiting and he gives me thumbs up..... I was definitly winning and could have raped him if i just left it in auto..... sorry guys my lack of ss experience cost the cls a sure victory. Flame on

Kind of wierd thing today with my new AV4s... I was driving slow(around 25mph) in first gear (gate shifting) and when I got to up around 4800 rpms, I stepped on it while the vtec was engaging and it spun the tires. I never noticed that before with my Bridgeston HP50's.
Is this normal for these tires or did my Bridgestons have better traction?

I don't know about other Acuras but the CL is a funny car. If you want optimum response from your car you're going to have to just memorize the best spots on your RPM guage to downshift. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to really test my CL S. But in my CL2.2 I had the whole powerband figured out and knew exactly when to get around the limiter. I smoked the hell out of an Eclipse once from a dig in my 2.2. At the next traffic light the dude in the Eclipse yelled out of the window "Is that a STICK?" I said "Nah, man. 4 spd automatic."
