i hate all car thieves !!!!!!!!!!

fuckers smashed my window at night, stole my airbags which cost $2,300 to replace, busted up my glove box, got glass all over my leather seat and scratched it all up, and scratched the paint on my door, and stole my new $200 gucci sunglasses and cologne. stupid factory alarm didnt even go off.

that sucks big time. We should be able to install a gun that will fire anytime someone brakes into your car.

I had my car hit and it didnt go off...when it was parked.

I was thinking they left a brochure in the 3rd picture.

comprehensive insurance, or install a lcd screen instead of an airbag.

sorry to hear about your loss

It looks like they knew EXACTLY what they were “shopping” for and also that the factory alarm wouldn’t go off if the door didn’t open.
One skinny guy probably slid through the window, did all the work and then went right back out through the window again.

i dont believe the factory alarm has any type of motion or shock sensor. so unless they open the door, it isnt going to go off. they can pound on your car and break all the windows and it wont go off. i wouldnt say it sucks, i just wouldnt call it an alarm....more like a keyless entry with a door sensor.

Damn, sorry to hear.

Airbags huh?? Hopefully you have a good deductible to help you with the cost of replacement.

After someone broke into my last car 2 years ago, smashed through the window without the alarm going off, I told myself I'd hook up a good alarm this round. I have a Viper with shock sensor, glass break, and really want a proximity alarm to give prowling eyes some warning.

yea my car was towed this morning to John Eagle Acura dealership. Im definatley gonna get tinted windows after everything is fixed so the glass wont spread all over the place in the event it get broken again. plus im gonna get one of those alarms that tells thieves to move away from the car or something and screams like a girl when they mess with it.

YUP.......The parts will probably get sold to an unscrupulous body shop for 250 apiece.
Then the shop will back charge the insurance company the same 2000+ the guy the got them ripped off is being charged.
And they’ll end up in somebody’s CLS that had a minor front end accident where the bags blew.
And that guy will have no idea he has hot parts that may not even go off if the car gets in another accident.

Sometimes parts even end up in the SAME car they were stolen from.

SAD, but true.

That blows. I added 2 shock sensors to the factory alarm. 1 is mounted under the dash, the other somewhere else. The factory alarm is very loud though. Some kids in my complex bumped into my car the other day. The alarm went off. I was lazy & let it go off for like a minute, then went outside to turn it off. I had people looking out the windows, the kids said sorry. The alram is 10X's louder where I am because it has 2 buildings to echo off.

How hard would it be for them to 'authenticate' air bags just like they do radios, i.e. making them useless once removed... just a few more software lines... Hell... just use the same sw routines from the ignition authentication, only with different sets of codes!!

They are not car specific. Any shock sensor will do. I have 2 DEI ones I bought off of ebay. Silverknight has the instructions on it, I also think it's on the FAQ. Maybe someone has it handy, I do not. It's not really hard to do.
