i was going around 80-85 on 15, on the way to vegas...that bitch cop gave me a ticket for 92 in a 70mph zone.....
anywayz, i already have 2 points on my record... my friend told me 92mph might count as 8 points instead of 1 point.. is it true.. if it s , iguess i mfucked hahaha
help me out guyz.. what should i do. will they suspend mylicense??

Well since it is in Nevada, and you are in Calif. then i think that i wont go on your record. Im not sure though.

I've been up and down that freeway many times and both Nevada and CHP use radar in addition to the aircraft patrol. You didn't say whether this was CA or NV (after all most of that trip is in CA). May I ask the nature of your ticket and if you have a radar detector? And that's a pretty big different 92 vs. 85.

I-15 between Barstow and Las Vegas is quite populated by CHP and NHP. Although tempting, I always think twice about speeding on that route. They are looking for aggressive drivers like you. As KenSteele said they also use aircraft patrol and VASCAR on that route, so radar may be of limited help.

I would check out DMV's website regarding points (assuming you got the ticket in CA). If you are looking at high pointage (reckless driving) you may consider appearing in court with an attorney type to help you plead it down.

i think it s in NV.. cuz the court on the ticket is located in Jean, NV... so... and i didnt have radar detector ... i was going no more than 85.... i still dontknow y the fuck that bitch gave me a ticket for 92...

If the ticket was in Nevada you can take a defensive driving class (even if you've taken on within the last couple years) and the points won't show up. At least that's how it works in AZ.

two years ago same thing happened to me 92 mph in a 70 zone when i was driving there...my ticket was only $190 and all i had to do was to take this home driving school since i live in cali. The NV DMV sent me a booklet and i read it and answered some questions and just sent it back to them. the whole DMV booklet thing costed me $50 and i didn't get any points on my record.

well i got a ticket within 18 month.. so i dont know if could do that booklet thing...

If Cali laws are similar to AZ, you can take that course anytime (even if you've taken in with 18 months), as long as the ticket was issued out of state.
