i GOT MY STONES AND SWAYS ON! (review)

Well I will start by saying, I expected more from both.

SWAYS: Eibach, 250$, got em from a guy on an av6.com.
There all right. Everyone says its like night and day... to me its more like morning and afternoon. I expected more steering sensativety. but there is less body roll.
I remember my springs giving me better handaling.

Stone headers: Im sorry to say that I feel this product is a mess.
Although I have only drove it twice on the day it was installed. (maybee it will get more powerfull) I first had to dremel all sorts of places on them. then the machanic said that he had to force the A pipe on the headers, or maybee it was apipe on the exahust. no matter it was off. This is what he said about the flanges where the headers meet the engine "they were bowed out, and not flat. I really had to crank down on it. Its a good thing they gave you those carbon gaskets cause acuras wouldnt have worked, and the hanger was not right. He said that he thought the a pipi was a little to close to the oil pan for him.
he said since he had to force the headers on that it might make a leak. and when I turn the engine off I hear this metal poping noise like doing or boing. I guess it is the metal cooling (normal?)


overall: Yea I have extra horse power but I have to reve my engine to the moon to use it. It would be so awseom if it was at 3-4 rpms. Yes there is resonance(I think) all it sounds like is a little louder deeper exahust note. at 2-3K RPM. Not a big deal to me at all.

I feel like Im hurting my car.... GET COMPTECH HEADERS
IM all about some low end horsepower( I can use easier).
light wheels ,Icebox, Chip but not for 600 for 10 HRSE power

If I remember correctly, don't you have to wait for your ECU to adjust to your perfomance mods unless it was reset..............??????

After I got my OBX the power dif was pretty obvious over stock. Fact is the before and after dyno said that there was more power at the wheels so I am not sure why you wouldn't "feel it". The only thing that I can add is that you will feel 30hp at the wheels but it isn't like night and day or anything. Just like when I added the Icebox...am I going to feel an extra 5-10hp when you are already pumping out 300hp at the crank? Probably not.

How long did he say it was to install the headers.

Also from whom did u get the sways from and for how much?

That is for sure to fastest way to let ECU adapt. I read few Stone Racing Review claiming that gains were like a day and night after few days.

Also ModAddict did install his Stone headers today. Here is his Quote: "My only problem now is mad wheel hop! The headers really woke up the blower !"

Anyways, JFYI the comptech headers will NOT gain you more TQ/HP below 5 krpms.

My only problem now is mad wheel hop! The headers really woke up the blower !

maybee Ill try to unplug the battery.
maybee I need to get a blower to wake up my headers.
dont get me wrong I do think I feel the extra horsepower. I just wish it was at lower rps, and I do hope it gets better.
I have found that the harder I push the sways the better they preform.

I don't know if you followed the correct install procedure,, the comptech install directions should be used. First install all nuts and bolts loosely, then tighten head flange slowly each bolt, work each head side a little at a time for all 10 nuts. Then tighten the six down pipebolts a little each side. Then tighten the convertor end pipe.

This work for me after much analysis why the downpipe didn't fit after I torqued down the head flange bolts first.

iono maybe there is a break in period ? or the ecu settings or just the installation

this is a pic I took when I was trying to sell my rims. and I just sold them. thats cool you bought your car cause of mine. its too bad I dont have those old pics.
