I got it!!! I got it!!!
Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie, but a long time lurker. I've been reading the CL boards(this one, and H-A.net, when it was still hot) for about a year. I decided to keep my mouth shut until the day I actually got the car. That glorious day was yesterday.
So, I just wanted to chime in, say "what's up," and thank everyone for the wealth of information. Hopefully I can contribute to that in the future.

Well, if you just got it, you're probably going to baby it for the first 500 or so miles but let me tell you, when you're finally finished with the break-in, man are you gonna love it. I got mine two weeks ago and I just broke 500 today and let me tell you I had a blast! I can't believe how long the car pulls through the rpm's. I gunned it at a green light and I had to peel my head off of the headrest. I was almost catching up to the cars that left the green light before I caught the red and I looked in the rear view mirror only to see the cars behind me barely crossing the intersection. Whoa! This is one sweet automobile! And to think I actually thought about getting a Volvo C70. What was I thinking?
I gotta tell ya, it sure is nice to drive the CL first thing in the morning. The perfect way to start and end a day. I never went out for lunch until I bought this car.
Anyhow, congratulations and I look forward to your posts!

Hey Kix S, What dealer did you buy your CL at? I am in Charleston, WV & we don't have an Acura dealer(my closest one is Beckley, WV, but I'm never going that way). I do drive through Canton on a regular basis to visit family in PA., so an Acura dealer in Canton(or close by) might be a better deal for me. Also, how do you rate your dealer that you bought from. Thanks,

Just got a big dent fixed in my car...when I get in it...it's just like it's a new car. It rides the same, I just feel like it's a new car again. As a matter of fact, it had the dent longer than it didn't.

As the Jamaican caddie I had for 18 holes would say "Congrats and all dat" Kixs, that's great you hung in there for a whole year. I imagine you learned quite a bit. Now get out there and kick some Lexus/Beemer/ Audi/Mustang ass!

WV250R,
I purchased the CL at Acura of Boardman, in Boardman, OH, near Youngstown. That is about an hour east of here. There are three dealers "near" here. Park Acura is about 15 min. up I-77 in Akron. Motorcars Acura is about 50 min. north of here in Cleveland.
The first time I visited Boardman, I was apprehensive. They are a smaller dealership with fairly aggressive salesmen. They aren't overly pushy, but you can tell they really want to sell cars. In the end, they gave me the best deal, and turned out to be very professional. Since they're 50 miles away, however, I'll be getting service closer to home.
Motorcars Acura really turned me off. The salespeople were arrogant, and didn't take me seriously when I walked in the dealership. Two days in a row I walked in the dealership, ready to buy a new car that day, and was ignored. Each time, they weren't really busy, and each time it took 15 - 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge my existence. For some reason, they decided I wasn't worth the effort. I did work with one salesman whom I determined to be an idiot, and he wasn't much help. He kept offering me brochures for some reason. Consequently, Motorcars never got a chance at my business.
Park Acura is closest to me, and was a pretty helpful, professional dealership. Park, which also has an adjacent Honda dealership, has a reputation for not coming down much on price though. The salesman I dealt with there didn't get close enough to my price target. Other than that, he was reasonable. That is, until I informed him that I bought the car at Boardman.
This man went nuts. He called me back at work and began to try to get me to break my deal in Boardman(I hadn't taken delivery yet) and beat me up about "not giving him a chance to make the deal." Then he indirectly tells me that I better not bring the car to Park Acura for service, "because we at Park like to service the cars we sell to our customers. Why should you expect the same kind of service our customers get?" It took every once of restraint to keep from cursing this guy out and/or taking a quick drive up the road to "chat" with him and his sales manager.
I wouldn't attribute this man's actions to the whole dealership, though. Up to that point, my experience there was positive, and I did talk to their service people myself, and they seemed cool. I would still recommend that anyone at least give them a look.
