I finally got a type s!!!
I finally did it! I am the proud OWNER of a 2003 3.2L Acura CL-Type S!
Thanks you guys for all the advice prior to my purchase. I am so happy with this friggin beast of a car. Goodbye Civic, Goodbye Accord, Goodbye Solara Car! Hello Tafeta White CL...I love you!
Well, I am getting ready to take this car from New York City to California in two weeks and need a little advice. Before I post I will go head and check out the DIY's!
Timing Belt, Water Pump, Thermostat ....Done!
New Engine Mounts...Done!
Tranny in great shape! 156K Miles.
Need to replace wiper blades, fix interior lighting.
My gauges are very dim, as well as the driver side controls, also shift box is without light.
Well that does it for now! Thanks again everyone for your advice prior to purchase!
that drive is gonna be FUN.. i just hope u don't find out the trans is fucked on that long trip over there.
when i bought my car it was all good but soon after just doing normal highway driving the trans ate itself.
I hope this doesn't happen to you but oh what can u do? just gonna have to roll with it.
i'd give that puppy a trans fluid change (3x3) and a oil change before doing the country commute, but that's just me.
congrats ...and I hope everything works out for u. lol how many speeding tickets u expect to get on the drive over to cali? lol

White is a great color to start with.
Good luck with your car. Looks like you already have some tinted tails, and they look good like that on the white.
Time for a debaging of the trunk.

getting that glue off without scratching the clear is a PITA tho that takes a good 40 mins.
mine was so hard and bonded that it took an exacto knife which i used to cut off most of top layer, so when i used this turtle wax stuff (i forgot what it was, it was at my buddys house) it could actually scrub off the rest.
and this was on a hot day in the sunlight so it's a fun job, but so rewarding. car looks much cleaner

I just finished some maintenance items today, including the 3X3, a full engine flush, power steering, belts, hoses, radiator....the works... WhiteChoco is amazing feeling and sounding right now. Took a look under her and not even a piece of rush or a leak. Tranny is as smooth and without a hitch. This drive back to Cali is going to be sweet. Speeding tickets....none -

Found your thread. As a proud CL owner for over 5 years, I'd be glad to help you out with any issues when you reach Sacramento.I think I see front tint on your car, that is illegal in california. If you don't mind risking a fix-it ticket for 50 bucks, you should take it off. But since they are already on there and you don't mind risking 50 bucks, I'd keep it on there till the cops tell you to take em off. I know a shop in Rio Linda that can remove the front tint for 10 bucks a window.
It looks darker than it really is
I promise! No lie, I think I may be able to get away with that tent in Cali, but if not, yeah
I'll take them off. Thanks again man, I am looking forward to this 2831.45 Mile Trip.
