Excellent!!!! Welcome to the club! I'm looking to swap in the coming months

After you've driven it for a couple of weeks, do us a favor and post a detailed review about the shifting, tranny, interior, likes/disklikes etc.,

Darn it!

OK, congratulations already. Yet another 6-speed is sold. When will this madness end? At least you didn't get it in black.

If this keeps up, even my nerdy neighbors will be driving a 6-speed soon.

Welcome to the family... I think.

Indeed, reading this message board becomes like an addiction to crack.

6-speeds rule. All the Auto guys are jealous and miffed they didn't wait!

Congrats.

Thanks

Thanks for the well wishes eveyone.

Give me a couple of weeks and I'll become a regular around here.
For now, most of my free time in the near future will be spent
breaking the car in. I only have 200 miles on it so far.

Is my brother and I the only ones that think the splash guards
look a little too cheap? I am still unsure if they are even that
effective.

Thanks again,

MW

^ I am not, I bought mine about the time the 6-speed was due to come out and knew I would have bought '03 auto anyway... .
I'm sure most who wanted to badly enough made the trade to 6 speed

Congrats and welcome to the family. I hope you will enjoy the car.

Regarding the mudguards, just paint them silver and they will look awesome.

Mudguards

Those silver mudguards look cooler :o, however, it seems to me
that the mudguards I have on only partially block debris.

How did you paint them anyhow?

I had them professionally painted for $100. The shop used some sort of flexible treatment for the plastic.

Dude, welcome to the fam'.

Now you just have to drop it like it's hot (hot), drop - drop it like it's hot.
(Comptech springs w/ Koni yellow shocks and Comptech swaybars are a good start... or just go with coilovers and Comptech swaybas. )

Don't worry we'll give you more than enough ways to blow some money modding her up!

I was thinking of starting with CAI first. I still only have 400 miles on the car, so I was going to break in the engine first.

Perhaps a dumb question, but what do the coilovers do anyway?

I definately look forward to getting some good ideas for mods.

not a dumb question...i tell most ppl I have coilovers on my car and they stare at me blankly.

Basically coilovers are springs that sit on an adjustable perch. The adjustability of the perch raises or lowers ride height. I purchased TEIN SS coilovers last month. They are simply the most incredible mod I have purchased so far.

I can adjust the drop from near stock height to three inches. If I want to change the ride "stiffness" I simply turn the top of the 16 way adjustable struts. I currently have the ride set up about 15% stiffer than stock, but it can be adjust to softer than stock.

The downside...$900-$950. But if you plan on going aftermarket springs and struts you will be looking at about $700-$900 anyway. Might as well do it right the first time.

Check out this link for pics of my install
