TL_Type_S

about two weeks ago...

I'll just skip to the juice...

We're @ a red light at an intersection by a movie theater (me and some stranger that started tailing me in an '01 CL-S w/ chrome factory rims). I'm in my '03 Max SE auto .. I figure, hell, it's about time I experienced this from the other side .. countless races in my Type S.. and now I get to race one .. cool!

Green -- simultaneous rxn ... <however> as we gun it .. a toyota tercel w/ a family in it takes a right turn to get into the lane the Cl-S is in ... so my lane is clear, his has the Tercel in his way. He can either a) slow down, b) try to outrun the maxima and swing left into my lane...

What does he do? (B) .. he tries to take me .. it was very interesting.. as I was finishing up 1st gear, I could hear that his engine (both our windows closed .. i could still hear the VTEC roar through it all) had already shifted into 2nd gear .. we were neck and neck... and he was gaining on this poor tercel... so .. as he approaches it's rear at about 50 mph... he is forced to SLAM on the brakes... I had no idea he'd even be stupid enough to consider trying to pass me ..

He now becomes a complete asshole .. after he slams on his brakes... he swings into my lane behind me .. i now let up .. we're at 70 and i'm not looking to go to jail, kill someone, or just be stupid.. He throws up his hands like I was completely to blame ( i see this in my rearview) .. guns it into the right lane again after passing the tercel... and then TRIES TO PUSH ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC by slowly moving into my lane...

I slow to 20 mph and he's now in front of me swerving across two lanes .. back and forth trying to egg me on.. he's slowing down so I'm forced to as well.... I gun it around him, take a quick left turn on a stale yellow arrow and get the hell outta there before he decides to pull his glock out from under his passenger seat.

What a complete loser.

See.. why I do not do that shit... complete reckless and stupid... sometimes I go into a minor road rage... by honking an ass till he gets deaf!

Damn, what a jerk he was. I learned a long time ago in Philadelphia that the best thing you can do when someone else flips you off is give them the biggest, stupidest, ear-to-ear grin you can and wave :-)

I'm really interested in running w/ a TL-S from a dead stop w/ me in my Maxi.. of course I'd only do this in a safe, sorta controlled circumstance.. but I also wanna run while it's still cold out.

Running at cold temperatures with the 2k2+ Max is a mixed bag; the VQ35 makes mad power but the Potenzas cant put it down to pavement effectively.

Yeah.. the blowtenzas... well... they blow. I have really grown to appreciate the Michelins on the Type S .. i used to bitch about 'em allthe time until i got the potenzas... it's unusual for a potenza series to be this bad...

The Michelins we have on the CL-S are the worst tires I have ever had. I can't imagine anything worse! Sorry Maximas! I feel for you!

I know the base TL/CL has Michelin Energy tires (which is what came with my 99 Accord) but which type do the CL-S/TL-S??
