I finally called Acura Client services to complain about my transmission taking too long to replace. After I explained to the gentlemen handling my case that my car was a show vehicle, with sponsors and contracts, that I was breaking contracts by not attending specified car shows due to transmission failure, he put my in touch with the senior case manager. I explained my situation to him and he said he'd do his best to get my new transmission in asap. Well, I didn't take him too seriously. However, today my service rep at Bell Acura informed me that my tranny has gone from #21 on a waiting list to #1! He said he has never seen something like that happen before. Apparently they consider me a "highly influencial Acura client since my car is a show vehicle." They didn't want someone who does such a positive job promoting Acura to publicly bad mouth them. They bumped me ahead of all the other 15 people who have also filed complaints with Acura Client Services. Who knows if this is just something they said to make me feel better, but I was flattered

I was #21 on the waiting list AFTER waiting 5 weeks! I started out MUCH higher than that.

 

Holy shit 5 weeks and #21 do you have any idea what number you started at?

After 5 weeks and probibly before that I would be thinking about lemon law, but I guess since it is a shown car and you've done all the work to it that isn't really in option in your case (too much invested in the car)

at least you got moved up the list, but with all the failures we have around here I wouldn't go advertising you got bump to #1 cause some of our members might be the ones you got bomped over. Oh well hope they have you car up and running soon.

 

Not to make this into a tranny post but WTF. What is the % of CLs now that have had there tranny fail? Are we up to 25%?

 

I lost count of how many blown trannies on the board. I'd been trying to put it out of my mind and not worry about it (not that it help any). but recently when my tranny started holding gear I got to reading the tranny forum.

I wonder fast that waiting list moves? because they must have an almost constant stream of tranny failures to get a waiting list that takes 5+ weeks. That is completely unacceptable if a few trannies randomly failed that's one thing but a waiting list and constant failures? acura really need to get their shit together.

 

Way to go Aaron. Waiting 5 weeks and still being 21st on the list is unbelievable. Acura really needs to get on top of this tranny issue to reestablish some confidence with their customers.

Is Bell closer or did you switch from Scottsdale Acura for other reasons?

 

Yes. You people don't seem to understand just how many trannies are broken. My dealer has been lucky this month - they have enough trannies to keep ahead of how many are breaking so there is no wait.
