i cant chirp into 2nd anymore???

i used to allways chirp into 2nd like a month ago, but now i cant get a bark out of them on the shift

i think its because i got the tranny fluid flushed, thats my only guess, i mean it was 35 deg tonite and the car is pulling crazy so i know the power is there

anyone have a clue??

i still cant believe you guys think its normal for us to chirp in the first place. the auto tranny should be smooth at top shifts. it chirps because the shift is not smooth, very harsh and sudden as if the car didnt expect to shift.
getting tranny fluid flushed probably made the tranny run smoother, thus no harsh shifting and no chirping tires.
you guys are confusing chirping with too much power, which is not the case here.
i never chirp any gear ever. but does it mean there isnt enough power!?

bingo he hit the nail on the head. I can vouch for this living in phoenix where the assphault is always hot enough to cook an egg(or bacon )

when its summer my tires chirp everywhere, come winter the chirping stops unless I take a hard corner and floor it

Ditto on what power3dfx said. If your tranny is stock, well maintained, and the tires aren't bald you should have smooth launches. I put a shift kit and high stall converter in my truck. Now I chirp my tires at will. Unless I have 800 lbs of tools and parts in the back. Which is the reason for the high stall converter, it helps get the load moving.

When it was still hotter than hell here with rapidly dissintigrating tires I spun almost all the way through first gear from dead stop. Now that it's cooler with better tires traction will be better =)

common sense tells you so, but like you, i am young as well so it takes more than that to fully understand why hotter might not always be better.
when the road is between 70-80 degrees, it gives optimal traction. if its really hot, then the tires can heat up too much, and they start slipping instead of gripping. if you watch car racing (not bs kinds, i mean the type like BM), they will always start to slide more because the tires are too hot.
anyone whos been to a track knows that after several laps, the cars start to slide.

This can be explained not by the hot rubber but the hot road. Out here in AZ or on any really hot road you can always see the heat distortion drifitng up from the road on a horizon. Once temp are above a 100f, the oil in the asphalt mixture starts to separate and rise to the top of the road. So in dead summer trancation can be very hard to find unless you're looking in the shade.
