So I was driving down this moderately busy road and this cop was driving down the other way. As he sees me and my supernova lights go by, he makes a U turn and comes up behind my rather fast. I don't know what happened here, though, maybe he saw the A C U R A name on the back and knew they wee factory, but he just turned down a dirt road and left. He couldn't have been rushing toward an emergenc, cause he followed me for like 3 miles w/o lights or siren. But anyway, I saw the cop originally on a hil, so maybe the lights blinded him and he thought something was up Can I add auto-levling to our lights maybe that would help? Any other ideas????

You probably looked shady and he tailed you for a bit while he ran your plate to see if it was stolen.

Dont feel bad, at least the cop didnt pull you over. One time I was driving around and a cop in front of me, got behind me and pulled me over. His reason "I just wanted to make sure this vehicle is registered." I guess hes not too thrilled about seeing young kids driving german cars Damn pigs.

Auto-leveling? That must suck because then it'd point too low when you're going up a hill and you couldn't see stuff further up the hill. And if you're going downhill, they'd level up a bit and blind people coming the other way.

This thread reminds me I need to point my lights up a little higher since the Comptech springs have made them aim a little too low.

 

a little offtopic, but how do your smartlites work and where did you install them? like em?

 

I have the self-leveling Xenon headlights on my BMW X5. It works pretty good, but if you are close to a wall or a car, you can see that it's constantly self-adjusting with the object in front of it.

As for going up a hill, the self-leveling only changes if your car is at a certain angle for a certain amount of seconds.

I've been high beamed by people in both the Acura and the BMW.

I wish I could tell you . The guy who I emailed SEVERAL times, he was in some company called Fota (i think) industries, keeps tellin me that their availbility is being pushed back. He is very prompt with his responses to my letters, but nothing ever comes of them . He told me that they should be availible by February, but that is up from his original answer of November. So, i don't know. But as soon as I get them I will post pics and my review.
