How much actual contact area on the rotors? possibly the pics but,it does not look like that much.

Ha, I knew someone was going to mention that.

There is plenty. The pads that come with these calipers have about the same surface area as the OEM pads to. However you should know that surface area is not a component of friction force (in other words, don't think that because the pads aren't 3" wide this isn't a huge step up in braking performance, because it is).

Of course someone would.
Looks like a over sized cheap rotor with a decent caliper with tiny pads.
A wider pad would be your huge step up.
oem size pads will get smoked much sooner,no?
I understand you are tring to bring a big brake set up for as low as you can,and going with oem size pads will help that but, If you are going to use 4 pot calipers,larger rotor,you need the larger pads.
Atleast in my eyes.

I can tell you this, that 4 pot setup is better than the crappy oem version...lol

But I do have to kind of agree with Rick, why is the caliper so small, not trying to bash or anything I am genuinely curious, and does this kit use oem pads?
