How's your leather holding up?

After approximately 18k miles and almost 2 years, the left bolster section of the driver's bottom cushion (the part that holds your thigh) looks wrinkly. but it's been this way for awhile too. the seams for the bottom and side bolsters are holding up alright, though they look like they were stretching if i recently sat on them, but they pull back together after about 5 minutes from getting off. was previously using lexol, but just switched to the zaino 'cuz it works on leather and the vinyl surfaces too and requires no buffing. it also smells better.

otherwise, everything else looks alright. i found another source of squeaks/rattles in the back seats that some of you might want to check for...there was a lot of dust/dirt/sticky stuff (?) that was between the outside edges of the bottom cushions and the wall of the car. i don't know what the sticky stuff was (leather sweat?) but it made a squeak that sounded liek a rattle similar to the sunroof. i just wiped it with a wet paper towel to get the dirt and stuff out.

My leather looks good at 32,000 miles. There's wrinkles in the bolsters but they've been there a long time and I think that's normal. Just like leather shoes. They develop lines where you flex them. I use Lexol too to keep them clean and soft.

Still some of the best seats in any non-exotic. Holding up well thanks to the Lexol.

With just over a year of use and almost 17000 miles my leather is holding up great. It's got wrinkles but that's what leather does. Other than that there is nothing wrong with it.

17K and the Leather's still great

Whattup folks -

I'm at 17K and my leather still looks really good.

I once used Lexol...but I came across Blue Magic's leather cleaner & conditioner...and it works GREAT! The leather just eats it up and looks brand new for another 2-3 months. Leaves a nice "new-car" type of scent.

I have 1 vinyl problem... I found a 2" long scratch on the vinyl on the back of the center console which faces the rear seat.

Any ideas on how to fix?

I'm at ~34k and I notice that on the front of the lower portion of the driver's seat (the area under the back of the lower to mid thigh section), the leather appears to be flaking off around the holes. Anybody else experiencing this?

8600 miles and the seats still look and feel great. Agree on Lexol, great product. Using Vinylex on the dash, and door panels as well.

Also agree with JZ. Some of the best seats I've ever seen. Always get compliments from friends and coworkers.

I got an idea....

USE LEXOL!

After abusing my leather since dec00 i decided to really do some touch up. What I did.....Use lexol leather cleaner and then use the conditioner....If you really want the nice leather look from the day you bought the car, don't wipe off the lexol (as they say on the bottle) let it soke in overnight. I did this process at 4:30pm friday and 11:00am Saturday I went out to the car and DAMN what a nice look. It even got rid of some of the wrinkles... A MUST TRY!

that's what confused me about lexol. i'd put it on and pretty generously too, but then when i buffed it, nothing would buff off.

but then i decided to try the zaino stuff and it smells a lot better and you can use it on vinyl too instead of havingt o switch products. i think lexol smells kinda weird when the interior of the car gets hot, almost like a caustic smell.

20k+ miles with three applications of Lexol and the seats feel as comfy (re:supportive) as new, maybe more. The wrinkles are now there but not real bad so that it makes the leather look and feel too thin or too worn. And I'm at about 200lbs, oy vey! All in all everything on the car is holding up real fine with NO squeaks, shakes, rattles and rolls whatsoever. There, now that I've just said that, I know my ride will now sound like a 1000 freezing drunks with the DT's each holding two cans of Krylon paint.

24,000 miles and 1 year and 8 months. Still no real wear but I still have the "worms" sticking out of the back!

22.6k miles, 13 months. Leather looks great (except I've got the hair coming out of one of my back seats too, gto2050!!!)

I use Maguire's, but I'm switching. I'm fairly unbiased between Lexol and Zaino.

I did have the leather on the drivers seat replaced at 10k, but that was due to a flaw (one of the seat warmer nodes was poking through the leather).

Other than that, GREAT leather. Much better than my Legend.

I agree. I have the same lines (34,000 miles) but they are normal. Had them on my Q45. Just keep up with the Lexol.
