1. Park in a garage
2. Get a good aftermarket alarm w/ a shock sensor etc.
3. park w/ the nose of the car pulled up to a wall or something so they accessable.

Guys all that you saying is good but how about if you still have to park in the mall in the middle of nowhere, where no body cares about about alarms

First suggestion get a hood lock

Second put compustar or aladdin alarm that is still cheaper then $3000 dollar HID lights

Olso always backup intp a parking stop so no one could back up to your lights and take them off

Why not ask Honda how can a 30k car be held together by 2 screws? Better than asking the thieves I think....

Crazy story, in Bay Ridge, my friend heard his alram go off.... He looked out the window and saw 2 guys, it was the wrong car they picked. He went out the side door and hit one kid in the back of the head with a baseball bat......knocked him out!!!! He chased the other kid around the block with 6 of my friends, they caught him and I'll leave it at that. Their van was totaled

Have you had a problem with your????

What part of Brooklyn are you from........

I know that in Brooklyn that Park Slope, Flatbush and Bay Ridge are problem areas.

I don't currently own a CL but my friends have 2001 CLS, 2001 TLS and 2002 TLS and dont think if any body tries to steal their HIDS or especially mine will survive i'll make shore to put them i a wheell chair the people who steal HIDs are low lifes the don't sell them more then for $100-150 dollars so you can imagine how many cars get stripped for HIDs so some puncks can make a living from that so think who is next?

Alarms are worth about the finest outhouse wallpaper money can buy. When I hear one, I couldn't care less... same with 90% of everyone else. If the alamr isn't finished in a minute then I get concerned. By then the thieves are already gone.
Pulling up to a wall... sure, I'll just carry a brick wall around in my back pocket.

Yes they can... they do every day. What are you going to do? Shoot someone? Can't do that... You;'d end up in prison... same if you kick somebody's ass. Either you'll get the pointed object of their choice in your right lung, or a .38 to your chest... It sucks... But thats the way is it.

Car alarm sounds are worthless, but having a shock sensor flash your HIDS must surely be a deterrant. They're pretty damn bright, lighting you up, and blinding you in the process.

I always park against a wall if I'm worried. If I have to walk further, then so be it.

Even if you can fasten your HIDS in tight so they aren't able to
be pulled out, you'll still have plenty of body damage when they try.

Maybe someone can marked a fake crack that we can stick on the
HIDS so they look like they're broken! ha ha!

Yes, Florida is a good place to be. I currently have no fear for my HIDs (probably just jinxed myself)...

On a side note...does anyone have the Aladdin installed on their CL? It looks like a nice alarm to have, but those extra sensors just keep adding up, correct?

I understand that... but those of us who live in liberal shitholes don't have the right to take any action against crimminals... Even in our own home. In PA if you shoot an intruder and he has a knife, you're going to prison. There has to be some crap about deadly firce on the part of the intruder. I don't understand...

Well, whenever I park anywhere, I look hard to see where I want to park. In mall areas, I like to park right up front where there are always people walking up/down.

Yesterday, I parked in a really bad Mall, so what I did was park right outside Sears Auto Carcare, that way the mechanics could all see my car. Most cars parked there were waiting for their tires to be fit. Since it was a Customer Only parking, I went in and bought a bottle of windshield cleaner. I needed it and it made my parking 'legal'.

Whenever my park for lunch, I park where I know I can eyeball my car from a table inside.

Call me paranoid, but I paid too much money for this car to be messed with by some idiot.

my 2 cents

Best letter award from March 2002 Car & Driver

Title: Xenon Bandits on the Rise

My wife and I lease a 2001 Acura Tl. Last week, the xenon headlights were stolen from the car. The bumper was ripped off the car, fenders bent, and the lights stolen. The damage was $4300.

This is a pervasive problem in north New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. the NEWWARK STARLEDGER published a story saying the lights are being stolen becausee Acura designed them to be interchangeable with the Accord, one of the most highly stolen cars in America. At the body shop, I found 7 other Acuras there with the same problem. The owner of the shop said he is getting 10 to 15 cars a month with the lights stolen, and this has been going on for about a year.

I contacted Honda of America and my local Acura dealership to inquire about trading in my TL model for the RL. I am willing to pay more per month to have a car I can park in public. They will no help me (or anyone else) in lease without the standard costs involved in breaking the lease. My friend has the same car and has already been hit twice.

With all the MIT grads and PhDs at Honda, somebody should have thought of this problem. If it happens once to my CL, I'm selling it...
