How to remove the speed limiter

I'm sure the question has been asked here before, but ...

Anyone know how to remove the speed limiter?

I've personally only pushed it to 120 or so, but when I see the tach reading a bit over 2k RPM, see the redline around 7k, and see the speedo saying 80 MPH, I can not HELP but wonder how fast this thing can go

I have only had mine up to 140mph, it was plenty fast enough for me on an open road. Closed road with room to drive w/o being ticketed might allow me to go to 150mph.

Ive been close to 140 on an open road also and it scared the crap out of me The car felt ok at that speed but the risk of a life changing ticket and death stop me from doing this again.

Seriously... why would you need to remove it? Plus, I don't think you'll go much faster if you do.... drag can be a bitch at 149mph....

At about 140 it might just take off with the right wind coming at the car.

I've gone 143 in 4th through Nevada. I want to do at least 150 just to say I've done 150. When I did the 143 I had stock everything. Now I have the CT drop and 40 series tires. I want to see the difference in handling.

At about 140 the winds start flapping in and out. Have others experienced this?

I have a "friend" who has sone 140 in his previous AT cls. He wouldn't ever do it again. I also have another "friend" who has a 6MT and has taken it up to 135 with the similar mods on my sig....and it felt ok.

what do you mean flapping in and out?

I got up to about 120 on a fairly empty 3 lane highway and while the car felt find it was a bit unnerving. I couldn't see trying to push 150mph.

well, technically you'd only be able to go 149 since that's the cutoff

I thought someone did the math long ago, using calculations with the coefficient of drag and horsepower, and effectively got a maximum speed of within 10 MPH of the governed speed.

The windows started rattling in and out from the wind and force. I cruise at 120 in my CL and I love it. I want to cruise at about 140 though

I have a stock 2003 cls6 that I took only to 142...
and the other day went to 135 with my winter tires...

when i had a 2001 cls, I took it once to 245km/h... which is 152 and never felt the limiter... maybe my speedo was a little off and I was just about to hit it.

and yes, at about 135 the windows flap a little but beside that it's very stable and not scary at all.

Well since to one really ever answered his question.

You would have to reflash the ecu to allow the car to go faster
