How my CL smoked a Crrera...
Just happened this morning…
I was on my way to work when I stopped at this Red light waiting for it to turn green. A Black Porsche 911 Carrera pulls up next to me. I’m not a morning person and don’t usually race in the mornings. Well, the Porsche wanted a piece of my CL and I so I said what the hell.
We had nothing but about 3 empty blocks in front of us. Light turned green and there we went. He led the race for about tire length of my car for about .5 seconds. But the 260 horses kicked in and there I went… Smoked the Carrera…
I just couldn’t believe how much power my CL had… I’ll never doubt it again.
So, if you see any Carrera's out there trying to race you. Don't worry just let CL shown them what's it's made off...

Really... Not raising the B.S. Flag here, but to the best of my knowledge an 02' Convertible runs about 5.1 sec for 0-60. Now, obviously the driver could have been terrible... Are you sure he was trying?? 
Some people may have serious doubts about this one... (I HOPE IT"S TRUE THOUGH!!!

The reason why i think he was trying was because He gave me a tumbs-up after few lights...
The only other thing i can think of is that he had some sort of gear changing problems... I didn't notice any at the time...
No modifications to my car... atleast Perfomance wise...
But damm it felt good...

I'm not surprised. I'm more like shell shocked. A CLS beat a Carrera? Not calling nobody a liar, but... Ah heck, a win is a win, even if you had to shoot the guy to beat him.

I was behind a brand new C5 a couple of weeks ago. It was an older guy and he could not shift to save his life. He had a hard time getting it into 1st at the light. :o

wow so when i pull up next to a carrera and a viper i know that i can tear the skin off their doors huh?

Guys,
All I was trying to say was that if one doesn't know how to drive a sports car (Carrera), don't bother buying them...
I know Carreras are fast but CL rocks... for 1/3 the price... It can be a poor mans Carrera...

There is a possiblity the cl can beat the carrera. because the car isn;t that fast. But like you said the guy must of forgot his driving skills in his younger days.
I notice my father (which owns typeS cl) gets retarted as he gets older, driving wise.
