How much would a good lease cost on a 50K vehicle?

Anyone have any ideas? My wife told me I can get rid of my CL-S if I can sell it and have it paid off. I really like the new FX-45 but I would have to lease to keep the payments down. I would be looking at probably a 36 month lease with 10K miles a year.

What would be a good deal? My insurance would only go up $70 a year.

Thanks,

Ash

i wish i could only drive 10k per year. it's more like 25k per year for me.

my guess would be around 400-450.00. thats a total guess. probably alot cheaper due to your 10k deal. thats going to help you out alot.

Samer,

Is this just a guess? What's the best way to pursue something like this? Do I just go to the dealership and tell them what I want to pay?

I got a ballpark quote on the FX4X (Premium, no Technology package)......was 36 months, 12k/miles per year, tax and tags up (no cap reduction). Was around $640/month, figured off MSRP.

With that, I would think you could get one with 10k/year with the same terms above for around $600/month give or take $20 bucks.

Go to a dealer and find out what they are charging (MSRP, Discounting?). Get a lease price in the process, thank them for their time and that you have to think about it.

Then, go out and call or go to as many dealers as you can and work with the number(s) you have.

Its a PAIS, but it generally works to get a deal you're happy with.

Yes, go to the dealer and tell them what you want (options, etc.) and then they will work with you. Make sure you check the prices with at least a couple of dealers before leasing. competition rule

Thanks Beltfed... that is a bit high but I am paying about $670 a month now for my CL-S (buying, not leased)... Yes, I got screwed. I'm thinking I would want the technology package and I know that adds about 8K but maybe I could find a good deal.

What do you think about the FX45? From what I have read, it is fast and still sporty.

I like it very much, just don't get white........they sound great, handles great, and fast. The electronic locking tailgate, while not innovative is a nice touch.

With the roofline being as low as it is, it definitely gives off a sporty appearance and feel (the exhaust sounds awesome).

Its got plenty of room to carry shit with the seats folded, the interior is nice (materials could be a tad better)- but as long as you don't get that wheat colored interior you'll be ok. Make sure whatever interior you get, it has the black upper dash and door panels, etc.

I could live with it.

It all is going to depent in the interest rate(money factor), and the residual value of the car after the leased term....
If you want to know the ballpark of what your payments be like, try this site: http://www.leasecompare.com

Some of Leasecompare's quotes are a bit funky (far from being a ballpark figure), its fun to look at....but wouldn't go by their info.

To get a somewhat serious quote? Either dealers or use Carsdirect, etc.

Yikes!!! My local Infinity dealer just tried bending me over! I basically told him that I couldn't spend more than $600/month and he told me there is no way I could get the FX45. I test drove an FX35 and I was still impressed. Everything besides the engine, wheels, and drilled pedals is the same. Anyways, we start working the numbers and first of all, they would only give me 17,500 for my 01 CL-S with 16,000 miles. So, I said screw that, let's work the lease without the trade in.

He said OK and came back with MSRP on the FX35- $41,350. 3 years, 30,000 miles, 0 down = $748/month. I walked out in discuss. My credit rating is above 740 so I don't know what the deal is.

Now I guess I'm stuck... there is only one other dealer that I know about which is about 25 miles away.

That's a fucking rip (you can easily get an FX45 premium for $100 less a month, let alone an FX35). Before my bro got his Murano, he got a quote of like $585 on an FX35 with 12k/year. What's the deal with CA anyway? Not matter what board I am on, it seems any new car is always top dollar in CA (even with the Tech boom long over)....weird.

Anyway, if you truly want the FX....Travel. You're local dealer still has to service the car, so go take a ride. Hell, get numbers from a different dealer and bring it back to the douche bag you were talking to.

Lots of people have money here so if they don't sell it to me, the'll sell it to some other poor sap. They are never willing to deal here.

Sell it privately... I got an offer on mine and I'm not even selling it. It was quite a bit higher than that.

Go to Edmunds for "true market value", then hit AutoTrader and see what the cars in your condition are being SOLD FOR!

Funny, there is an article in an investment column that states that Nissan has one of he highest margins in import sales and that Porsche is the only company with higher margins.

The car is a hot mover -- forget about the credit rating. If the car was a dog, and had a dealer lease program, any rate is possible. However, I don't think that is the case...

Drive the 25 miles and get another quote. If you don't have multiple quotes, it sure isn't going to put a light under them to "compete" for your business...

Go to cars.com. If you look at the residual and money factor, you are basically going to get some real numbers to work with.

(YOU NEED TO PLUG IN THE NUMBERS -- THEY WILL BE SET INCORRECTLY!)

Less F-150s and a high ratio of "must have the latest and newest." Plenty of idle consumers with tons of money and tastes for imported vehicles. Outside of Germany, where do you think they sell the most Porsches?

You don't think all that tech boom (bust) money evaporated or was shot into the sun's core -- do you?

Dealers will always blow you out of the water with their first set of numbers. If you can wait 3-6 months when the truck isn't so so hot. When my lease is up I am definately going loaded Murano or FX35. Got 15 months left on the lease... Good luck
