How much Tranny fluid?

I am going to change my tranny fluid this weekend at the Brother InLaw's garage. Should I use the Honda Premium fluid the book recommends and how much of it should I buy?
Thanx,
Chris

Yes you should use the factory fluid, failure to do so can cause all kinds of problems. You will need 3 qts of the trans fluid and the correct sealing washers.Jens

Thanks Jens,
Would a Honda dealer have the stuff I need?

Only 3 quarts of fluid? That seems low.

Also some places have complete replacement of fluid by forcing in new and letting old out. Is this done on a cl-s if so how many qts then?

That is the method I am also asking about. My Bro InLaw said to bring 13 quarts!

Jens, what do you think?

When we service the trans we only use 3 qts as per the service manuals.I have heard of these "forced fluid change" machines but have never seen one in use or have tried one out.In certain cases such as if the wrong fluid was used it is required that the trans be flushed but this is simply done by doing 4 drain and fills in a row. This will require one case of trans fluid. This is really not required unless there is a problem.Jens
