how much is my auto tranny worth?
mine was rebuilt this January by a guy who's been doing this for over 40 years and he's very meticulous about his work. every replaceable part was changed and it runs better than brand new, very smooth shifthing.
i've driven numerous CLs and TLs, and never experienced a better tranny.
if i sell it, how much is it worth?

You can's get a rebuilt tranny for under $2000 in tri state area..
When I was getting mine rebuilt I called like 10 places and the cheapest was $2400 for tranny and torque converter..with 12/12 warrenty..
I personally think a rebuilt tranny is worthless w/o a warrenty!!

Yeah like StonedCL said, unless the warranty on your tranny is transferable, I doubt anyone would want to buy it from you for a reasonable price.
Anyone that doesn't know you would certainly question why.

not much if anything at all. the trannie in the cl is so bad too begin with. like they said unless its got some nice warranty package, it's going to be hard to sell. even it it has a warranty, not many ppl would even want to deal with it.
If you sell the tranny or the car with the tranny? How many miles on your car? What is the condition? What options? More to knowing the value than just having had a rebuilt tranny.

the reason for selling my tranny is because i'm doing a 6-speed conversion
here my thread for the sale.

now i'm just thinking about selling the tranny alone and keeping to motor build later on.
The total miles on the car around 168k. but very well taken care off.
The tranny has only been used for 5k miles or so I believe.

You can get a working tranny out of a junkyard for $600-$800 w/o a warrenty + $500-$800 for install.. I paid $3000 for a tranny and install becuz I got a 3/36 warrenty w/it.
I am they type of person that would pay a extra $1500 for peice of mind..
You can tell anyone that the tranny will last but w/o a warrenty its all word of mouth..If the tranny re-builder was that good (like u say) he should have backed it up with a warrenty? Any rebuilt tranny should come w/warrenty of else to me its useless.. Did u get a warrenty and is it transferable?

Yeah I got a 12 month warranty with it, but ofcourse, just like anyother, if I pull out the tranny and put it in another car, it will void the warranty. And the warranty is only good for another 3 Months only.
Same thing as if u get a warranty from Acura on tranny, its not transferable if u sell it.

Maybee u can work something out with the guy that re-built the tranny so if he does the swap he can add some warrenty.. at least keep the 3 month...
I just had my tranny rebuilt and I got a 3/36 warrenty 0 deductable and good throughout the whole country at any ATRA rebuilder..
He used sonnaz end plugs raybesto clutch packs Amsoil syntetic ATF and Haynes ATF cooler.. 12/12 seems a little short for a guy that supposedly the best rebuilder in the area and used the best parts..NO?
