i dont understand why you pasted these links from the lighting forum. all 2nd gen guys have xenon systems already. even if they wanted to switch to a projector they dont have to change any wiring or create a harness. what is it that you are trying to do to your car? or r your trying to educate ppl on what they have in their car. well if your doing a retro and need help pm me.

ahh. i have have HEARD that the mini hella d2s projectors arent that great. u might be able to get a d2s bulb to focus ok in that housing. im thinking of mounting a mini 1.25" h3 projector from an audi tt or lexus rx in my 1st gen blinker. it would give me amber fogs. only thing im unsure of is how long an h3 bulb will last as a blinker. if its at least 3-4 months i might just do it. what do you think. i think it would look sick with my bmw xenon projectors.
