From what I hear, drops over 2-2.5 inches will most likely warrant a camber kit.

My car has about an 8" drop and it doesn't need a camber kit at all. My alignment is flawless

I heard if you go any lower than a pro kit (2 inches) you'll need it.

i'm not an expert, but, isn't toe and alignment different things?
toe is vertical (up and down)
alignment is horizontial

no, alignment covers toe, caster and camber.

Btw, my comptechs lowered my front exactly 1.5" and rear exactly 1.0". I plan to drop at least another inch all around with my coilovers for starters, check the rear camber, and then drop the rear another half inch if I can without too much camber. Our rear cambers and our front toes, it seems, when we drop. The camber can be fixed with a kit, but of course that straightens the wheel out so you might rub which means you can't drop it that low so the camber kit is sorta self-defeating because when you get it you'll just have to raise it back up around to the point where you wouldn't need the kit anymore.
