How to get rid of rear progress sway bar SQUEAK??

So over the last few days i noticed a squeak coming from the back of the car (very little but still it's noticible) took off the sway bar bushings and greased them with WHITE LITHIUM GREASE.. but it still is there.

Anyone know how to make sure this lil bitch of a squeak can go away?

Should I use another type of grease?

please let me know. I'm up for any ideas

am i the only one with this issue or what? it's like a little clunk actually ... scrap the squeak comment.

almost sounds like something is loose in the back or something. as if it takes certain bumps hard or something... but when ur driving at normal speeds its not really heard.

check to make sure every thing else is tight, check swaybars end links for play, etc., etc.
it could be anything in back suspension

Try some teflon tape instead of the grease.

stoned cl I had the exact same thing.

maybe it just my suspension getting old cause of the sway bar's stiffness.

It could indirectly be the problem.

Bigger bars will sometimes break the sway bar end links, I would check them.

ppl that upgrade the sway bars usually have to get new end links do to the alen bolt think stripping, and its highly recommended to get the moog end links bc their twice as thick, and greaseable.

Most likely loose/busted end links but my front poly bushings creak like an old door when going over speed bumps. I am planning on wrapping the sway bar in teflon tape and or putting something under the bushing between the subframe to hold the bushing tighter against the bar. Sorry for thread jacking but I figured I'd throw the last part in there for people with front poly bushings.

naw no worries.. teflon tape.!!!! what a great Idea. I'll do that tomorrow. If that doesn't solve it then it's something else.

Where did you order those from StonedCL? I might need to get some of those also. Thanks.

Key is using think mil. teflon tape or multiple layers of wrap. Lowes has some pink teflon tape that works well.

I am using stock sway bar links with the Progress Rear Sway and have no problems at all. OP make sure to use a good amount of grease on all joints and bushings to help out!

^ teflon tape . . . I had to do that to my Comptech rear sway bar when it was brand new. 8 years later it's still working.

Ive been getting the same clunking noise coming from the back. Ive had it checked out by a very good mechanic and he couldn't find anything.

It seems to come and go, usually when im moving at really slow speeds or reversing. I have a CT rear sway that was installed a couple years back. So end links are probably the problem? Teflon tape em?

No, teflon tape the bar. Instead of greasing the bushings, wrap teflon tape on the bar where the bushings sit. If your endlinks are busted, you should be able to tell visually.
