make an intake extension to span about 6 inches that the auto would have had from the VSA being present

Adjust the voltage clamp as well. Automatic kits are set at 2.84v; 6-speed kits are set at 2.93v. You'll need a Voltmeter or a Multimeter and a small screw driver to make the adjustment. Without this adjustment your car will see boost and will pull timing thus losing a TON of power.

But otherwise yes the only difference is in the intake plumbing because of the absence of the VSA throttle body.

so everything fits fine other than that.. I am concerned about the Elbow that connects the blower to the Intake Manifold.. does that fit fine?

wow. that sounds fairly easy (AT SC kit to 6spd). would it take alot more work to do the vice versa? and what would that consist of?

thanks,
DB

If the elbow thath connects the blower to the intake manifold needed to be replaced I would have told you in my previous post

The only difference between the two kits is that on the AT cars there is a VSA throttle body that goes in front of the standard throttle body. So the intake plumbing from the IceBox to the throttle body is slightly different to compensate for that.

I thought there was something about the fan shroud that was slightly different between the two kits? Or is that jus to put teh SC on any car?

I believe the fan shroud differences are between the CL and TL not the transmission.

Actually now that I think about it I honestly can't remember. Either way I know with the 6-speed you only need to trim the shroud so that it doesn't rub the shaft. ( )

Fan shroud on the auto is different. The 6MT shroud is modified by the installer. Comptech modified the Auto shrouds and did them on an exchange basis. I'm sure it's a doable mod though.

I spoke with Nate at Comptech last week so there's still hope if you want to buy the parts from them. Call the non-toll free number for Comptech and I think Nate's extension is 121.

i know how much does it cost from converting AT to 6 speed, and does 6 speed have the same freaking AT problem. beacuse i was thinking about to convert it to 6 speed so i won't be freaking out with the AT tranny .

What kind of gains does the supercharger provide?

With the high boost pulley on a 6-speed you're looking at 295-330whp.
With the high boost pulley on an automatic you're looking at 265-300whp.

It really depends on the car and the dyno.

Comptech has closed their doors at the moment. Although it's yet to be determined if that will be permanent. You can pick up a used kit for around $2,000-3,000 depending on how lucky you get.

No clue how much it would cost. There's a thread in the TL forum which details how to convert your automatic to a 6-speed. It's only been done once by 1 member on this forum.

The 6-speed has no problematic failure problems like the automatic transmission.
