Not sure about Acura, but in my old car (3000GT) I had to go to the dealer and they punched in the ID number that's on the back of the radio to get the code.

We need the serial number and model code from the sticker on the back of the radio- then we can run it through Acura's computer and get the code. Of course some proof of ownership is needed, wouldn't want to give the code on a stolen radio

Acura may do some stupid things, but why bother with the code at all if they're going to do THAT.

When you open the glove box there should be a sticker on the left side of it...I think it should say it ther...I think that is where it is on the CL.

i remember the first time the car totally died (about 3 years ago) because of the leak and i got it jumped but couldn't get the radio to work because the manuals/codes were lost awhile ago...i called up a benz dealer (knopf mb, not even the one we bought the car from), gave them the vin #, and they got me the code in like 30 minutes. never asked for any proof of ownership or anything.

i had a 98 cl...i needed the code and this is what i did. i called acura csr svc (the number is at their web page)....gave them the VIN number of the car and asked them for the dealer this car was originally shipped to. they gave me the original dealer's name...i called the dealer, gave him the vin number and asked for the code. he gave it to me over the phone. some dealers might ask you to come in and show proof of ownership. this guy didn't ask me. i guess it also depends on how old the tl you have is and how long the dealership keeps their records. but if taking out the radio or having someone do it for you is gonna be a hassle for you, you might want to give this method a try.
