you're gonna try and chrome it yourself? Chrome is a finish that's applied through electroplating. Unless you have these things readily available - you should leave this to a professional.

The stock mufflers are black. How shiny do expect them to be

The 03's have chrome tips that can be cleaned quite easily. There nothing special so any chome polish will make them shine slightly more

zephyr works great on polishing chrome - other than that - i would just leave it and not waste the time/money on it. It's a stock exhaust.

The stock exhaust is made of aluminum. It's painted black (and poorly at that).

You could have someone polish the mufflers to make them shine. If you really want to make them look nice, look into powdercoating them. They do offer a polished/chrome powdercoat finish.

Personally I wouldn't waste your money. Get a set of Magnaflows for a little more than you would pay to have your stock mufflers coated.

Mother's makes a "Mag and Aluminum Polish" in a small container that works outstanding. Many, many years ago, I purchased a set of old school 5 stars for my old school '85 CRX for $100 and they were trashed. They looked like they had NEVER been cleaned. EVER! I got some of that stuff and went to town on them and after I did that, they looked brand new. I'd try some of this on them...

Go here, about 2/3'rds down the page under "Tire & Wheel Care"...

You're not going to polish the OEM mufflers with wheel polish. Different kind of aluminum. You'd need a metal abrasive with a cutting wheel to get those things to shine.
