Yeah, we really need to get people using that thread more. Especially since there is a lot of good info being added to it.

Notice the keywords at the end of the links... brake screw is what I used to search for those threads... Don't forget to search the 2G TL forum too. Same brakes, and those guys are geekier then us, so maybe one of them took pics.

If you're going to DIY on your CLS a Helms manual is well worth the $75

Not really. The brakes are one of the easiest mods to do on a car. The only car they are a real PITA for is the 1997 Acura CL, 9-97 Accord and some Preludes (I think) b/c they have the hub over rotor. Go get an impact screwdriver. It should be about $20 at Autozone and that should get them loose. If not, you may end up stripping the screw and you may need to drill it out. That screw is there to hold the rotor in place so you don't necessarily need it.

Pay someone in a repair shop $50/axle to do rotors/pads like I did. Done in 2 hours.

Your problem is that there is no post on "HOW TO USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION."

It is definately recommended. If you plan on doing work on your car, just buy a torque wrench since you will definately use it a couple times.

Mostly just for tightening the lugs down to the proper torque. It is very important you torque the lug nuts in a star pattern and the proper torque (should be 80 ft lbs) so that you don't warp the rotors.

Most of the problem is not using the search function, but knowing what keywords to search for...
