Hid Change

This sux, but your gonna have to take off the bumper, then remove the headlights. (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A TAMPER PROOF BIT) Take off the cover then take the bulb out like a normal bulb.

uhh....no i just changed mine the other day...you shouldnt have to take off the bumper for any lightbulb changes. take off the little plastic cover with a little screwdriver then just change the bulb like any other headlight...unhook wires twist bulb either right or left i cant remember...then pull it out and repeat to install the new ones. just dont touch the glass on your new ones or they will no good.

There is no reason for having to remove bumper to change lights bulb. That would be the most idiotic engineering/design fault in Acura history.

you are correct in that aspect. if you are changing housings then you do have to remove the whole headlamp assembly...my accord was like that. i think just about all hondas are. but for lightbulb changes i know they arent that dumb. just to make it clear....if you doing highbeams it is the same as any conventional headlight. plug and play. blinkers/sidemarkers you just remove a few anchors on the fenderwell peel back and reach in there and your right there in the area you need to be. roadlamps...just remove anchors from underneath the bumper and peel the plastic sheild outa the way.

Thanks

I see the back (black round cover with high voltage sticker) but how do open this part up? I'm assuming that's where the bulb is. Speical tool? How many bolts?

Also, should I disconnect the battery before beginning this operation?

Thanks,
J

well maybe for your CL's and maybe thats why there is a HIGH THEFT demand on your lights. Becuase on the 3rd Gen Tl's YOU MUST!!! TAKE OFF THE BUMPER.. Acura did it so that there are no more theft of HID. at least not that easy anymore. becuase a thief will get it if he wants to no matter what. but you get what i am saying.

supposed to use a star looking tool...but a really small screwdriver will do.

oh btw if its dirty...the screw is hard to see i believe its on the top half of the cover...the part you can see just look real close with a good flashlight
