Honda Just Underrated another one!['04 S2k!]

first the accord, now the S2k!

just read it on vtec.net:

http://www.vtec.net/articles/view-ar...icle_id=171514

there's a HUGE JUMP in torque too! Hmmm..... seems like the '04TL might actually be a monster! can't wait to see the actual numbers, on the dyno!

this, combined with revised gear ratios in 1st-4th, should place the s2k solidly in the mid 13's!

although the TL didn't get any displacement upgrades i believe it should get a nice bump in power. We'll have to wait for the dyno's for the proof. But Acura did similar tweaks to the engine in the MDX a while back and it got 20hp increase.

I was THIS close to buying a S2000. It just isn't practical enough for daily driving. I needed soemthing to drive in the winter months.

But hot damn that car is a rocket. At 6000rpms the car is transformed into something I would relate to taxing down the runway in a jet. It's scary.

With the lack of torque in the car, it was HARD to achieve good times unless you had balls of steel and felt comfortable in dumping the clutch.

The additional torque in the '04 should make this car REALLY cook.

Several people who have test driven the new TL say they thought it felt about the same or a little less powerful than their stock CL-S.

shawn, the authour of the article, just posted on s2ki.com, and he said that there were "even bigger surprises" when they tested the car's acceleration, versus the previous models. so you and maximized might just be eating your words pretty soon. the article on this should be up within the next couple days! :P

several people who tested the '04 s2k, said it wasn't any faster than their current one. so they were either lying(hating), or they test drove an unbroken in car! We have to wait untill we see a 600+mile dyno of the '04TL before we jump to conclusions. the 2004 s2k that they tested had 900miles on it.

There was an article in MT this month and they claim 5.7 to 60 and 13.8 in the quarter.

i drove a 04 tl w/ like 50 miles on it, i got up on it very hard more than enuff times, it felt equal or maybe a tiny bit slower than how my cl-s was stock, but the guy told me he drove one w/ 700 miles and it felt noticable quicker

i dont think a engine is fully broken in till 7-10 k miles
