Thats one funky looking dude.

Also, I don't think you can link from the site. You have to copy and paste the url for the pic to show.

is it me or is it starting to look like a mini van?

that vehicle has a personality problem! not good looking enough to be classy, not sporty enough to move like the x5 and not bold enough to take it off road!

granted acura has put a lot of value into it but what are you really getting when you drive it?

i say give it a complete redesign, better sport suspension, 20+inch wheels, no off road capablitlies, 350+ hp, better AWD system, aggressive interior, and more gadgets!

i guess im looking for a 4.7 x5 killer or porsche cayenne comptetior

While I agree with most of your post, come on, man. No car company is gonna do that stock (for sure) and although Infiniti did give that treatment to their FX, you're paying an extra 20k for all that shit. Make it an option, I agree, but then Acura's philosophy seems to be to make everything standard. Maybe they need to shift away from it, but you're asking for a bit much.

That's always been the knock on the MDX. But Blader's right, it looks pretty much the same except for the upcoming 3G Odyssey front end. But I guess Honda figures, why mess with a good thing; they still seem to sell @ or above MSRP.

All the current MDX needs is 300hp+/300 lb-ft and an avail 19" wheel package w/sport tuned suspension, IMO.

its not starting to look like a mini van, the MDX is a mini van, and always has been.

Sidemarker ... what Beetroot said... It ALWAYS was a mini-van.. ever since I tried the 225hp version.. the thing was nice.. but so heavy.. it just didn't move.. no agility back then, both inside AND out.. it looked like a minivan - one of the reasons I went w/ x5... That was almost 3 years ago... now with my lease up... I'd probably go with Toureg/XC90 - they are both $0 out of pocket in SoCal for now... or even an X3 - the bitch is not selling because too close to x5 in pricing... so cowboys try to push it out the door in any way they choose. In reality.. size-wise-trunk is bigger then x5... same engine/tranny/awd... and it does not look as awful as in pics... Since lighter in weight and an x5 motor.. it will run circles around mdx, even with 265hp...

uhhhh looks to me like the front end has gone through some changes. I know it's hard to tell since it's a side shot, but look at the headlights. They are a more aggresive styling like the new TL and TSX, and in order to make it look like that i'm sure they had to change the hood and bumper. and it's a hybrid. I'd say that's somme pretty big changes.

225hp?? The orig MDX had 240hp. Like you, A LOT of folks passed on the MDX because of it's minivan styling. And it still has record sales. (I personally like the MDX as it does a good job straddling both the SUV and Minivan worlds.) While I'm not sold on the Volvo, the Toureag is BY FAR the nicest SUV in the class, followed by the MDX.

Peace.

I think it's a great vehicle and considered getting one but went with the CL-S instead. I think it looks nice and don't think it has the mini-van look, but that's just me. But they did kill the taillights last year.

so when you were looking at what car to get, you were looking at both minivans...and sports coupes?

Well I had always wanted a TL, but when the time came I was looking for a car with some decent ground clearance because of the flooding we can get in certain areas that I frequent down here and since that's the reason I had to get rid of my last car so I started looking at the MDX, but after repeat visits to Acura dealers I just fell in love with the CL and it brought my payments down to a more reasonable level for me at the time. I didn't go with the TL b/c I didn't want a 4-door sedan, it's a great car of course, but I would feel like if I was driving my mom's car. I guess that reasoning didn't apply to the MDX b/c of the SUV craze, I jumped on the bandwagon.
