Probably not too bad. As Zapata mentioned, being a larger displacement engine it has more gases flowing at the lower revs to get the turbine spinning. In addition, it probably is running an automatic transmission with a 4k+ stall converter. That way it can build boost at the line.

maybe its a y2k turbo

The Y2K was specifically created to answer the need for a turbo to be used in pairs capable of supporting 2000+ HP applications. Utilizing a newly designed compressor wheel, featuring the latest in aerodynamic design to increase airflow efficiency, Turbonetics has matched a high flow turbine wheel to dramatically reduce the turbo systems backpressure. The Y2K also features a durable heavy duty commercial bearing system in a lightweight frame, making the Y2K series turbo a dedicated unit of making an honest 1000+HP per turbocharger.

Custom built to Turbonetics exacting standards, the Y2K series turbo includes a fully developed ASME inlet and rigorous VSR balancing. Available in "CERAMIC BALL BEARING" in December 2002!!!

OR a thumper

The "THUMPER SERIES" has been developed for dedicated high-horsepower applications the mandate the use of a single turbo or power levels that are simply unattainable with conventional turbos.

Currently available in four different flow ranges at pressure ratio capacities up to 4:1. Rugged in design and efficient in performance, this family of turbochargers has been upgraded to Turbonetics rigid manufacturing standards and built to meet the high horsepower demands of the professional racer.

All "Thumper" turbos are balanced on Turbonetics exclusive high flow capacity VSR test stand and feature "Quill Lock"- a proprietary Turbonetics method of positive torque transfer which eliminates the possibility of compressor wheel /quill slip.

My guess is its a thumper because i only see one turbo

I think that thing is straight custom made. Nobody produces a turbo that fucking big. Thats like rocket engine component size. I can't even imagine the boost that bitch pushes at full spin. 50psi area i'll bet.

well they are produced, just not in large #'s. there are a good amount running around that big in full out drag cars like the one you see.

Also you should see some of the turbos that the big rig guys upgrade w/

thats an early 4th gen camaro = LT1 block. and when i said 500hp, i was saying 500hp i was referring to the fact that the turbo itself would put out another 200hp. a conservatively sized turbo usually adds like 60 or 70 horses doesnt it?

dude, it's a 4th gen body, that's a straight pro street car. That turbo is putting out a lot more then 200 HP over the stock motor. The CI of that motor is probably over 600.

I really hope you were joking and just being sarcastic.

and most turbos will add 50-60 HP on VERY VERY low boost. THat thing probably boosts close if not over 30PSI

honestly i dont know shit about turbochargers or forced induction. never really researched them. and im sure its not over 600. 9 and a half liters with a turbo that size would do 60 in about half a second. we'd have seen this car before now id think

You have quite a bit to learn.

Regardless of the year vehicle that does not mean that it is running the stock engine. Most likely it is a worked engine and not of the original block. A turbo of that size would be able to flow in excess of 1200 CFM. That would allow that vehicle to make well over 1000 HP.

Adding just a simple, low boost, turbo to a stock LT1 would yield in the 500 HP range. But that turbo would be 1/2 the size if not smaller than the one shown.

There is no such thing as a normal turbo. It is all dependant on the engine and what it is supporting and the design/size of the turbo. A turbo kit on an otherwise stock engine can add anywhere from 30 HP to 300 HP (and even more in some cases).

Don't make assumption when you are self proclaimed ignorant on the subject.

No, that engine would probably be in the 500 - 600 ci range which would help to spool that size engine up. It is obvious you haven't watched too much racing to know that as the power increases the times do not equally decrease. Traction becomes more elusive. The drag at the higher speeds increases exponentially as the speeds increase, etc.

My guess would be that this car makes around 1200 WHP and would turn low 7's - high 6's.

What does that have to do with the discuss topic. You stated you didn't know much about forced inductions but yet made statements to the contrary. I merely pointed out the obvious.

And I certainly hope the below comment was not meant for me:
