Hmmm... New tranny = BETTER GAS MILEAGE?

I received my new tranny last Tuesday and filled up on Friday. Usually (pre-breakdown), I could manage 270-280 miles before hitting "E" in heavy, stop & go traffic. Today, with 1/4 tank left, I've already passed 270 miles.

I'll keep you posted...

you know, I have noticed that too on my new tranny. But then I have been babying it since.

does that mean we have less/more power now ??

there should be a dyno of a before and after tarnny change.

i think the problem is this:

when your tranny was broken, you used to rev a lot, and go on high RPMS to make it shift the gears. But since you have a new tranny, RPMS are lower when shifting, this gives you more MPG

Nope. I drive no differently now than I did before. It's got me stumped, that's for sure.

Hmmm...

Did any of the dealers (or Acura) ever make any comment about breaking in the transmission? (As in how, how long, etc)

Yes. I asked that question of my S.A. "No break-in. It's a transmission, not an engine."

Sounds good to me...

Hey!! I like that theory... good gas mileage = good tranny

I've always gotten kick ass mileage in the CL-S... always 20-21mpg in the city and 30+ highway. Maybe I'll be lucky and avoid a tranny replacement....

I still get awesome miles from my car! I have about 25K and get about 320 miles from full to empty, same tranny too!
