Hit-run Drag Racers Hit Boy And Girl In Queens
April 9, 2004 -- Two 14-year-olds were mowed down by two cars believed to have been drag racing on a Queens street last night.
The cars sped off after smashing into the kids at Horace Harding Expressway and Francis Lewis Boulevard in Fresh Meadows just before 9 p.m.
The youngsters, a boy and a girl, were crossing Francis Lewis - a notorious drag strip - when the hit-and-run cars came barreling down the street.
The boy was clinging to life early today and the girl was in critical but stable condition.
An auxiliary cop at the scene said that the cars, a tan Honda and a dark-colored Ford, were racing each other as the children crossed the street.
"They start on Francis Lewis Boulevard, wait for the light to turn green and then they just go," said the auxiliary cop, who asked that his name not be printed.
He said it appeared as though the children had just gotten off a bus.
The unidentified victims were rushed to New York Hospital of Queens.
Cops later found an abandoned red Ford with a smashed windshield on 209th Street that is believed to be one of the cars involved in the crash.

Why cant ppl just NOT understand that if you wanna race take it down to the track or strip... It aint right to endanger others ppl lives for a stupid race... Take it down to the track, where you can't endanger anyone else... A put you money and mouth right there..

Whats the prognosis on the boy? I hope there isnt any cns damage.
If someone did that to my kid, i swear to god, i will raise hell like no other. I really hope the family is finding ways to cope through this. And when the cops find them, just either shoot those motherfuckers or lock them up.
