Hit rev limiter for 2-3 seconds! Help me!

i was screwing around with sport shift and i forget i was in sport shift (it automatically went down to 1st so i just though i was in auto, stupid me) anyway i bounced off the rev limiter like 3-4 times. how bad is that gonna be for my engine or it is ok and i shouldent worry about it? hey, i got 2nd on my clp going over 100km/h.

Should be ok. That's what the limiter is their for As long as you didn't shift down to 1st gear going 120km/h and the needle didn't go INTO the red at like 9k rpms then you should be fine

Honda is very good at engine management. They set the rev limiter at a conservative level to protect the motor. Should be no problem,

I think you are screwed, you will probably have to change the tachometer fluid.

LOL.... I did the same thing yesterday going through the mountains up around Oneonta! Actually did it more than once. Also on one short stint, I redlined 2nd and it wouldn't shift no matter what. I had to slow down before it would come out of second. That has happened before too. Ohhh for a 6MT.......

IF i were YOU.....

I would get someone with an OBDII scanner and see if you have set the code for over-reving the engine. If so, clear it before you take it into Acura Dealer.
