highbeams?

dont think this should go in this forum but ill give it a shot anyways...

i was lookin to get some kind of aftermarket 9005 bulbs for the high beams on my cl. I guess i dont really need it since i dont really use the highbeams that ofter but it would be nice to have. the thing i was wondering was if there were any bulbs that dont have the blue bulb but at the same time doesnt have the halogen yellowish light look to it. i kind of think its a little tacky when i can look into a headlight housing and see a blue reflection...but thats just me being picky and anal

yeah, just get the bulbs without the blue tint on them. i think silverstar ultra's don't have it. honestly it's not worth it to waste your money if you don't use them. i bought HIR bulbs which are slightly whiter than halogen (3600K) but cost me an arm and leg ($31/bulb). they do output near HID levels, though.

They're just for show anyway. They don't put out anywhere close to enough light to be used as functional high beams.

And regarding the silverstars (your best bet IMO), they are a good deal more white than normal halogen bulbs but their light output is only marginally better. They run hot and don't last nearly as long as regular bulbs but if you don't use them much, it shouldn't be much of a concern.

I have some PIAA HBs, they have a very slight blue tint. However, you don't really notice it unless you look at them closely.

nice. i just checked online for some piaas but they are pretty expensive for something im going to use like once a month...but then again i have spent more money on less practical stuff before the piaas are pretty much what im lookin for. they have a new bulb that has some kind of mirror coating on it so when you look into the housing you dont see a reflection how long do piaas normally last?

you know the leds sound pretty damn interesting though

The LEDs are for show only. You get more light out of a flashlight. I don't think you'd even be able to tell if they're on from inside the car. They are not a realistic option.

I have PIAA extream whites in mine. They do have a small blue tint to them, but they are DOT approved.
