I haven't heard much about it since the summer ended. I really don't want to jinx you by saying, "don't worry about it."
Since you've got the Viper, with a shock sensor I assume, you're better off than most. Just take extra precautions when parking: well lit area near foot traffic, etc.
IMHO, it's sad to say, but if someone wants them, they'll take them no matter what you do and where or how you park.
