HID problem! Pls Help!!

My left HID light is acting really weird

it still turns on, but then the colour pretty much stays at the warm up stage (purple) and doesn't change back to white like it should... and then after like 5 minutes or so, sometimes, even 1, the light would just flicker and turn off. but then it turns back on again once i turn the switch off and turn it back on

N e ideas wut is goin on?? cuz they told me that if the light was burning out, it would just burn out and not act like that...i dunno...i kinda think its the bulb myself...but...depends...could be electrical...(these are stock bulbs used for 3.5 years approx) i kinda wanna deal with this privately cuz acura is telling me they wont cover it on warranty cuz i cleared my lights that my headlight housing was took apart b4. they said it might be a factor of this problem therefore they wont cover it

so yeah if n e one knows, pls help me out here

thanks!!!

Have your dealer look this over for you .It could be any number of components or parts causing the problem .Inverter Ballast Relay or Bulb itself could be faulty .\

Well I guess they could give you shit about clearing your lights, but, even so the only component that would effected would be the bulb itself. They can only give you crap if they can somehow prove that clearing the light caused the problem.

Just curious...does anyone know the size bulbs [or model number ] that i need for my 1999 Acura?

Also, are there smaller bulbs for my parking lights? I'd like those to be Xenon as well

About your funky xenon, my friend ktown378 from Austin area has had the same problem. He changed out his bulbs to 6000Ks and it fixed the issue. But Jens does know all and it could be any variety if issues in your headlight setup.

I have a 2003 cl s 6spd.Two days after I got the car,the passenger xenon light was out.It went back on the next day.At my first oil change I mentioned the problem. They had the car for two hours with the bumper off and had a hard time locating the problem. Before giving up,the tech realised that it was a relay. The part here in montreal is 39794-sok-a01 hope this helps.Chunky

I have a 99 TL and my passenger side bulb burned and my driver side is pink and flickers. I think that these hids are prone to changing colors after like 3 ort 4 years and burning out.

Hmmm thats exactly my problem Bigman
it was red at first
and flickers all the time and just turns off

now it just stays purple and dim and flickers out eventually

so i guess its just the bulb burning out
cuz its been 3.5 years already

Hmm but stupid acura said the HID bulbs last really long

oh wellz...i guess i turn it on too often
hehe

It's a pretty good bet that the bulb is on it's way out .It's a rare occurrance but it does happen .

huh? i thought HID's were supposed to "outlast the life of most cars"

mine kinda does the same thing sometimes, when i go to turn them on, only one turns on. then i turn them off and on again, and theyre ok. i say fuk the acura dealer! HID's are expensive! go back and tell them what chopper said!
some dealerships... they need to take care of people that are droppin 35k on cars! brand loyalty building here?!? dont think so

anyway sorry for the long thread, i'd say goto the dealer and have them fix it. (and if they dont, call corporate) sounds like this could be a big safety issue! its hard to drive w. only 1 headlight at night
