Hey Zaino users

My neighbor and I are Zaino freaks (he has a corvette Z06, and I have a CL-S). Anyways, he just recently bought the clay from a chicago distributer. I clayed my car only once, and I thought that each time you clay, it stripps away the Zaino you already applied before...and then you have to start over with your applications... Now this guy says that if you use the Zaino clay, it doesnt remove the Zaino layers you have already put on. True?

Clay is a minor abrasive. You do have to rewax your car.

INFREQUENT use of clay will NOT remove Zaino according to Sal. You can spot treat as needed and then apply Z2 or Z5 and Z6. Claying should be done when the surface feels "rough"- maybe once a year. At that point, you would want to reapply Z1 and Z2 or Z5 and Z6 anyway.

Take a look at my current pics-

I think it depends upon how many coats of Zaino you have on there. The first time I clayed, it damn near removed all of my Zaino. Water wasn't even beading up any more and it lost some gloss. The second time, much of the Zaino seemed to disappear but not quite all of it. Since you're supposed to reapply Z-1 once or twice a year anyways, it probably doesn't matter much. I re-clayed after 1 full year. I'm trying to be extra careful about not parking under trees and stuff so I don't have to re-clay too often. If I can make it 2 years between claying I'd be happy.

I have 14 coats and wanted to remove three small pinhole specs on the bumper that got into the Zaino. Confirmed with Sal that the clay only will remove a "little" Zaino.

I removed my three tiny spots and I could still see a ton of Zaino under the area I clayed.

I DOES depend on how many coats you have on the car!
