Hey CL guys

Hi all I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Tim and I just found a CL that I should be buying tomorrow. I came from a 328i that i hated and i had 2 eclipse gsxs before that. Im from central Jersey and I hope theres a good amount of you guys around here because I like to be involved with the community.

One thing I have to ask though is where I can find a good deal on the ICV or IAC I forget which it was that these cars use. The CL im looking at is a 6 speed 03 white/parchment and it has a crazy idle which after I searched seemed to have a bad IAC/ICV. Thanks in advance for the help and I look forward to being part of the CL community.

Yea the tan interior isnt really my thing either but it looks good with the white. Plus im getting the car for $8500 with a broken headlight and crunched fender but with the new uninstalled parts. I definately want to lower it throw some rims on and put a full exhaust including headers on it. Its already got an AEM cold air intake on it so I cant think of much else to do. Anything preventative I should do? Its got 83k on it so Im wondering what might have worn out over time. Also I wanna put some accent lighting inside (not ricer lights, think new bmw/lexus interior) and does anyone know where I can get those whitish blue license plate lights like the new lexus' have. Thanks for the replies guys im looking forward to makin my car sweet and swappin ideas on the boards.

Edit: sorry i forgot to say im in monmouth county

That's NOT a good deal on a crunched car! Keep looking! And get the color combo you want. There's always good deals from private owners if you have the patience to wait and are willing to get on the train to pick it up. Look in areas that don't salt the roads, cuz that makes a huge difference in stuff underneath corroding.

the KBB on the car I was looking at is 13,500 I think. Why would that not be a good deal if I get the new parts already? Theres no damage beyond the headlight and fender so after paint ill be paying 9000 for a car worth 13.5 and it will have fresh paint on the front end.

Clean title ?? Clean Carfax ?? Those are going to be 2 big things in determining value...

My car has both (I'm the original owner), and I'd probably have a hard time getting 13.5K for it in a private sale... (even tho' kbb says that's the value).

Yea the titles clean and everythings straight with the car other than what I mentioned. My friends uncle owns a body shop/car dealer and he got the car to flip but I'm buying it before he fixes it because I can get a better deal on paint through my friends car club. Thanks for the links ill check them out but right now Im on my way over to see if I will be bringing the CLS6 home.

You should be paying KBB trade-in value or less, not KBB retail. That's what a private owner would get from a dealer, so you shouldn't pay more. Also, you'll appreciate the car more if it's exactly what you want, as opposed to you thinking you're getting a good deal if you act fast. Lots of babied CLs out there at good prices.

Update: After further inspection I saw some bends in the frame of the cl so the search continues. I'll be considering a few cars but definately still keeping an eye out for a good deal on a clean cls6.
