Hey Al Uminum, your name came up!

Just wanted to let you know that I was at Park Ave Acura today getting an oil change and was talking to a mechanic named Jens about installing Comptech springs and sways.

Your name came up when we started talking about mods plus he mentioned this board...the guy was really cool, took his time to talk to me about the CL, mods and gave me a price quote of $350 for the springs and sways install.

Did he work on your car? Are you happy with the work? Did you order the parts from Comptech or from the dealer?

hey can you give me more info about your airhorns. my friend had them on his supra and it would give people heart attack and $hit if they where infront of him. we would drive around like a parking lot and honk at people and it would make them jump.

Any decent car audio shop should be able to put them in for you.

Mine went for $100 installed, mounted behind the from bumper. They also put in a toggle switch(underneath the dashboard by my foot) to switch between the regular horn & air horn. The factory alarm can also use either horn, depending on the switch setting.

Pizdetz,

Yup Jens did my car. I'm very pleased with Jens. He personally did the work so make sure you tell the service writer at Park Avenue to have Jens do your work.
The car tracks, looks, handles great!

$350 from a dealership almost cannot be beat! If that also includes the alignment than its just about the same price I got mine done for. Worth every penny.

I order both sways and springs from Tim (aka snook789 ) from
http://www.AutoCarParts.com/ .

Glad I did too as Tim's prices are $30 cheaper per item than ordering direct from Comptech. Saves ya about $60!

Tim also runs another Acura board over at http://www.acura-tl.com .

Good luck and say hi to Jens for me.

Sorry, forgot to ask you in my post but whats the deal with your tint?
Was it already done before you purchased your car? Is it on all the glass?

If you had it done afterwards how does the rear window, by the antenna, look?

Have you been "noticed" by the police and if so how'd they like it?

Good luck …

Al Uminum,

I had the tint done after I bought the car at a local place here in Wayne called Radical Tunes, they did an excellent job. It's 35% all around. The back was done as one piece, and the tint goes up right to the black upper portion of the window, not going over it.

I definitely recommend them, no visible bubbles anywhere, set me back $250.

I got stopped once in my town just for tint, the cop said that tinting the front windows is illegal in NJ...I knew that already but played dumb. He gave me a warning, told me to take the tint off and said if he sees me again he'll write me up. I still have the tint & luckily haven't run into him since.

Thanks for the tint info. Yup thats what I thought about the law. Unfair it is that even though I am dumb I'm now to old to play dumb, so I know the law wouldn't just let me go with a warning. I don't need the fret.

Enjoy your car, and when I see a PDG "S", (the first I'll see onroad), listen for the horn because I'm pretty sure it'll be you.
