Here's a stupid question.....
I am one of those 17 year old's whose parents bought him a 30k car. I wanted to change the shifter knob and wanted to make sure, to remove the existing knob - all you do is twist it off, right or am I wrong? I dont want to go f*ckn up my car. Thats why I am asking anyone on this board to help this poor little fool.
The shift knob is part of the Sport Shift tranny. If you want to remove the knob, you must drop the whole tranny assembly. Once it's out, you must get a turny-cliky-thing to properly remove the knob, turning counter-clockwise. This must be performed by an authorize Acura technician of course. Please confirm this with your nearest Acura service department.
I dont understand the point of you telling us about your age and your parents buying the car for you... what does that have to do with anything?
And yea, just turn it real hard.. it will twist off.
