Help! UR Pulley problem

I ordered an Unorthodox Racing stock diameter pulley (Part # 02.06.110) from ebay, but the guy installing it says it is about half the size of my OEM pulley. Does that part number sound like I was sent the underdrive pulley? WTF?! Any help would be very helpful! I know it sounds ridiculous, but is there a size difference between OEM and the "stock diameter" UR pulley?

I did, it isn't as helpful as you would think. I googled the part number and found an instruction manual, which seems to imply it's the underdrive pulley. Whatever, I wasn't really wanting to underdrive my whole system, but F it! I don't want to deal with the hassle of sending it back and waiting another 2 weeks to get this part on. Guess I'll just have to live with more power!

Figures... Oh well, I already bought the gates belts and it is being installed as we speak. I'm just hoping I don't have problems with my ac or alternator (even though everyone seems to have had good luck so far).

The UR Ultra S Underdrive pulley is part # 020611002. It is fine for all vehicles except those with stereo systems over 600 watts RMS and/or superchargers.

The UR Ultra SC Stock Diameter pulley is part # 020611012. It is fine for all vehicle and will not underdrive the accessories. We are the exclusive distributor for the stock diameter pulley since UR has discontinued it and it is manufactured solely for us so that we can still provide it for the AZ community.

Thanks everyone! Sorry for the freak out

I had my water pump, timing belt, crank seal, cam seal, and belts changed. I also had the valves adjusted, new tranny fluid put in, and a coolant flush. Apparently all the valves were way off. Add the fact that i seafoamed the car about 200 miles ago and had the new pulley installed, I was SUPER excited to drive it home last night! It was about 45 degrees out and I took the opportunity to let it rip!

The car runs better than it ever has and when I hit WOT... !! I couldn't be happier!! Now I'm just looking for reasons to take the car out... "sure honey I'll go to the store, sure I'll go to the bank, sure I'll go get dinner!" LOL, it's like I'm 16 again.

Richard, I haven't had the chance to install the ballast yet. Hopefully Wednesday.

Not good for people with more than 600 watts huh? I just put my two 12's in and have 600 watts RMS going to each sub. So should I get a new alternator because I do want these pulley's for my car.

You can get the stock sized lightweight pulleys.

The underdrive pullies won't work too well with a large stereo due to amperage draws.

should be fine, do you ever listen to your subs at full volume???, and if you are showing off with them at full volume, just push the accelerater a little so it is at a high idle (like 1500-2000)

I run 2 1600w rms amps with the underdrive ones and It draws bad.
You have to be carefull with your volume or you amps will see the magic smoke if the current is not there for them to pull from.
If I run only 1 it's fine.

I'm going to try installing a cap by this weekend. I think on my way home my amp was overheating. I have it installed where my spare used to be and it kept going on and off after beating it up on the way home. I got home and lifted that cover and it was pretty hot in there. Today it seemed fine but volume wasn't all the way up.

do the amps have enough air flow to get rid of the heat

Amps over heating is from running to low impedence or you need to turn down the gain.
To all that don't know the gain is not a volume its to match the output from the HU or line converter. If you have to much gain the music waves flaten at the peak and the amps signal will be cliped. This will over heat your amp.
And too much gain will also smoke subs that you wonder how the hell did I smoke 800w subs with a 600w amp.
I'm sure your getting enough current for your needs now.
Be sure to tune your amp properly.

it's funny, the sound system is one of the few things I don't want to upgrade.

BASE gives you rattles eventually also, and we don't get along very well.

LOL my buddy had a Jimmy and his 3 JL 12s were so loud the door pins came out and then his door ended up dangling to the point it wouldn't even line up with the door latch and then needed me to fix it.
that's what I call PUMPIN tunes :-)

If you a stereo system you should get the stock diameter pulley so it does not underdrive the accessories:

i would have to agree with you there... you will eat through batteries as I did on my ford probe with the underdrive set up and a system. lights dim, a/c slows down, actually it was so bad the a/c cut out untill you hit 1200rpm cause there literally wasn't enough power.... it's just a PITA to think u created the problem. That's the real killer

, only thing domestic i would buy would be a diesel pickup, or a sports car (like a corvette) cause for the diesel no asian company offers one here
and the corvette, cause it is really fast, especially once you put a s/c on it

only one sports car now in my mind.... skyline GTR.

Watch Top Gears episode on it and u will hate everything else.

It placed in the top 10 ALL TIME (i think $6 or 7) for their track test. above the bugatti Veyron.

Given it NOT a track car at all but, it has an extra 550HP and got SPANKED.

No american car will ever be able to handle the GTR or w/e comes after it... HA that'll be amazing to see

A sports car isnt a sports car unless you can row your own gears.

i know auto now is faster but i don't care, speed and the driving experience, is just not the same as when you literally ARE the car.

fuck i miss shifting like a ninja, and pulling away from everyone off the line. whata great feeling that was... and will be one day again.

proably should have put the performance in red text

and you can't expect every thing to be perfect when it first comes out, give them a couple of years to refine it
