Help on removing rear rotor

I bought the Rotora Rotors and was in the process of replacing the rear rotor. I removed the caliper and the caliper bracket, and removed the 2 philips screw with an impact driver. But the rotor doesn't come off!! I made sure the parking brake was off.

Did i miss anything?

could be 2 things.... the Emergency brake shoes could be rubbing the inside of the rotor... Can you turn the rotor with easy???

There is a rubber piece that conceals the adjustment.. you need to get a straight screw driver, and turn the sprocket so it will loosen the shoes...

The other, smack around the threads with a Hammer, sometimes they just lock up on there and need some LOVE.

sounds like you're talking about drum brakes?

Parking brakes sometimes/generally use a drum setup. My buddy's Supra was a bitch tryin' to get the rear rotors off.

The shoes for the Emergency brake grab the inside of the ROTOR...if they are worn or they are tight, they will catch and keep the rotor from being able to be removed.

If you still can not get the rear rotors off, I recommend you loosen that sprocket up. The shoes can easily be catching the inside lip of the rotor.... Once you finally get 1 of them off, you will see what I am trying to explain to you....

I tried again today with no success. The little sprocket is located at the bottom half, around 7 'o clock. I turned it both ways about 7 clicks, but no go. Which was is it to loosen it up? I'm working on the rear right side, i assume that pushing the sprocket upward would loosen it?

I banged the rotor with moderate force with a mallet/hammer...no go either. Should i hit it harder?

if you turned it 7 clicks one way and tried it and then turned it 7 clicks back and tried it, you are at the same point that you started.....

Pull the fooker off..

Remove the calipers, take the 2 screws out, beat the center, try some heat, loosen the sprocket (DOWNWARD).. beat it some more..... Quit tinkering with it and man handle the son of a bitch, your not going to brake it in pieces or anything...

Did you try putting the lugs back on and tightening the rotor back on the hub?...

I am almost 100% positive it is your E-brake shoes catching on the inside lip.. the side of the shoe can easily catch it and you will still be able to spin the rotor freely..

Got a HELMS?

Honda/Acura rotors have threaded holes in them to help get them off when they get seized on there. You just thread a bolt in each one and tighten them down evenly. Works just like a gear puller. Make sure the retaining screws have been removed also.
