HELP: Rattling Noise When Coming to a Stop
Hey guys, I want to know if any of you have experienced this problem and if it is worth taking to the dealership to get checked out.
I have an 01 CL-P with about 60K miles. I just bought it about 2 months ago. Recently, I have been hearing a rattling noise when I brake, but only when I am about to make a complete stop (i.e. very low speeds). I talked to the Acura dealership and they made an appointment to get it check. But they mentioned something about resurfacing the rotors or changing the pads. I just want your guys advice on what I should check and/or change. I want to be able to do as much as I can on my own. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have my CL manual with me, but I know on previous Hondas/Acuras that I owned, once the brake pad material wore down to a certain point, a clip would come loose and rattle to indicate to the driver that the pads needed to be replaced. Maybe that's what you're hearing.
