HELP: Rattling Noise When Coming to a Stop

Hey guys, I want to know if any of you have experienced this problem and if it is worth taking to the dealership to get checked out.

I have an 01 CL-P with about 60K miles. I just bought it about 2 months ago. Recently, I have been hearing a rattling noise when I brake, but only when I am about to make a complete stop (i.e. very low speeds). I talked to the Acura dealership and they made an appointment to get it check. But they mentioned something about resurfacing the rotors or changing the pads. I just want your guys advice on what I should check and/or change. I want to be able to do as much as I can on my own. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Still need help with this. My brother thinks it may be the CV boot. Any ideas?

Most likely your brakes. Rotors/pads. You can check the CV boot yourself just get uder the wheel & see if there's grease all over the back of the rim, & look at the boot & see if they are torn. If not they are fine.

I don't have my CL manual with me, but I know on previous Hondas/Acuras that I owned, once the brake pad material wore down to a certain point, a clip would come loose and rattle to indicate to the driver that the pads needed to be replaced. Maybe that's what you're hearing.

I just checked the brake pads and they still look fine. So are there any other suggestions?
