Help with a meshed front opening
Hey Guys,
I've seen the DIY on how to make a meshed grill, but I'm looking to make a meshed plate for the opening under the bumper. I want to protect my radiator and am wanting to mount my aftermarket fog lights to it. The problem I have is, I fit the meshed plate in, but can't see any place to mount it?? Has anyone mounted any mesh plate in this opening and can help me with how to mount it?? I'm not putting stock fog lights in because I opened up the fake vents and have my CAI breathing through it. Thanks..

Thanks for the link. on my 2003, I'm leaving the vents in and just doing the center section. I got a piece of diamond cut mesh from home depot ( gutter guard stuff) that is the right size. I'm also going to paint it black, silver stands out to much. Did you just drill little holes in the bumper to install the wire ties?? It's been awhile since you did it, how is it holding up? How is the paint holding up? thanks
yes, just drilled holes in certain areas for zip ties, its not very obvious especially if you go with black ties and a black grill.
it's holding in place just fine, no issues. the paint not so good, some chipping, but honestly i didn't put much effort into the paint. i picked up some generic powdercoated grill from summitracing and it looks like it would hold up nicely.

I finished with my grill work and wanted to share it with everyone. Would like to know what you guys think. I also opened the fake vents and put a cold air intake behind them.

Check out my avatar. I bought a piece of mesh gutter guard from home depot that was almost perfect in size. I painted it and put 3 coates of laquer clear on it. I opened up the side vents by, believe it or not, a table saw!! When you take the side vent of, the vents are covered in the back by a piece of plastic. If you comfortable with a table saw, We just took the piece of plastic off alittle at a time. Very clean and easy. Then I painted the vents same color as the car and the mesh grill. If you also notice, I also painted the background of the Acura symbol to match the car too... Lastly I added a AEM CAI, painted car color, and the filter is right behind the now open vent! I wish I could put pics on here but informed I couldn't, and I don't have a website to put them on either. If anyone has any questions, let me know.
Revision
I found out how to put my pics on here. Check them out and let me know what you think!

I have been trying to make an upper mesh grill from gutter guards, but the don't fill the grill top to bottom. Could I solder them or what? I can post pics if necessary.
The pieces I got from Home Depot called hinged gutter guard were 3ft long which was long enough for the bottom opening. The pieces I bought were only $1.50 each, look like diamond cut aluminum.
