Well all of you know this vehicle is new to me. Tax money is coming and Im going to attempt to fix the things wrong with my car. When I first bought it I took it to my mechanic and he said the following things are wrong/broken etc.

Left Front Lower Ball Joint
Right Front Upper Control arm
"Play in Inner Tie Rods"
Sway Bar Bushings

Right Lower Engine Mount
Top Front Engine Mount
Lower Transmission Mount

"Idle Air Resonating in Airbox"
"Left Front Corner of Subframe damaged"

What do you all think that'll cost me parts labor and all?

And do you think those things will cure the following... Hard/Jerking Shifts when accelerating hard? Bumble/Knocking noise when hitting bumps? Shutter from 1st to 2nd when turning left and taking off at the same time?

Again guys Im no mechanic, Id appreciate nice replies lol. I admit Im a retard when it comes to stuff like this!

 

Well since you said "my mechanic" I trust that means you're not getting these done at a dealer. Myself personally I had two motor mounts replaced at the dealer and it cost me like $650 in total. I'm sure it'd be less than that at most any mechanic. Maybe 3 motor mounts being replaced would be.... $750 or so at a less expensive mechanic? afaik these OEM mounts cost around $200 each, right?

 

Ive found them cheaper through advance I was gonna purchase all the parts myself and then go from there. I dont understand however when googling the mounts you find mount kits for 40 to 50 dollars. Im scared to buy them lol. I truthfully dont know! Do you think fixing those things listed will fix the problems I listed?

 

The "Hard/Jerking shifts" will most likely be cured from the new motor mounts, and the "Bumble/Knocking noise when hitting bumps" will be cured from new sway bar bushings.


As far as the shutter from 1st to 2nd goes, I am not totally sure.
