How do I turn that light off.. its buggin me when I drive at night.. plus Im trying to sell my car.. so I want the light off.

 

Sup Bro,
If the maintenance light is on.......Just follow this instructions below:
*The light comes on at regular mileage intervals, reminding you to take the car in for a checkup. It first starts blinking and then eventually goes nuts. Your dealer will reset it.

*If your dealer forgets to reset it, you can reset it by doing the following:
*Before starting the car, hold down the select and reset button at the same time for 10 seconds.

*Then while still holding them down, turn the ignition on but don't start the car

*keep holding the buttons for another 10 seconds and let go
Turn the ignition off. The light should stay off now.

*The light can also be on for other problems with your car, so it's best to get your car checked out.

Did you already have the car's maintenance done & the dealer forgot to reset the light? -OR- Do you just want to turn the light off so you can sell it? I hope your answer is the first of the two choices, otherwise that is pretty shady.

 

Worked just as you suspected...thanks for the instructions. My light had been on for a while, and I changed my own oil last time.

 

FYI... if you're ever unsure or forget these directions... it's in the manual.

 

For real? Shit...guess I oughta read that next time. I figured I'd get more help from y'all, though. Plus, I wanted to use the SEARCH.

 

LOL... I'm actually surprised no one mentioned to use the search . Anyway, they really are in the manual. I can never remember them exactly... so I always whip out the book when the light starts flashing....
