Angry HELP:Headlight lens scratches!!!!!

They were there when i bought the car, they just werent as obvious. They are right next to where the hood meets witht the heaslights. You can tell they are from a buffer. How would you guys go about removeing them or making them less visable??
Thanks for the help

Wet sand and buff them.

You could use a few different grits starting with a rougher then finishing with a finer grit. Make sure you are WET sanding, without the water you could do a lot of damage.

I recommend starting with 1000 Grit being the roughest and finishing with at least 2000 Grit if not finer. Then you should use some micro finishing compound to buff then finish it with a quality compound. Be sure not to burn the plastic while buffing though.

Before going the wetsand route, maybe try using Meg's Platix, or Poorboy's SSR.

+1 for wetsanding. 3 cars so far and very happy with the results on each one. Sometimes just plast-x alone does the trick!

go to walmart... on the aisle w/touch up paint there is a $15 kit you can buy. small buffing pads coated with really fine grit compound. sray water on the headlight and attach the pad to a drill... its pretty simple, and it took every scratch / haze / crusted bug off my headlights. like brand new!

Very true. I had SOME results using Plastix, but I used PB's SSR2.5 the other day, and it seemed to have done a much better job. I've still yet to see the car dry, to tell if it's actually done it's job, hopfully in a day or two we'll be all thawed out.

The plastix worked pretty good. Better than I thought. There are still some scratches. If they come back I will try what ljmushock suggested. Thanks for the help
