Guys,

I'm in the process of buuying a '01 CL-S. Heard about all the transmission issues, and have also heard conflicting stories about extended warranty on these cars. Are all 01's under the 100K extended transmission coverage? Also, how could the coverage be verified (even the Acura dealers seem to be a bit confused)? The person I'm dealing with hasn't received anything from Acura regarding the 100K coverage - does that mean his car isn't covered?

I'm planning on completing the deal tomorrow and will, therefore, appreciate some quick thoughts. Thanks!

 

Get the VIN and input it at the owner's section of the acura website.

 

Or you can just call Acura directly at 1-800-382-2238 and ask them. Just have the VIN with you when you call. They should be able to look it up and let you know.

 

My '01 is covered, although I have never received anything in the mail from Acura. So, I have about 20k for #3 to eat it.

 

You should be covered! I thought all 01-02s were covered with some early 03s being covered as well.
